thanks for your all the great ideas from everyone. i'm from NJ, (about 1.5 hrs from atlantic city)As you can see op, there is a plethora of options.... it's downtown ft lauderdale. Your hotel is in walking distance of one of the hottest spots in South FL, so the world is your oyster (which you'll find plenty of there as well).
I don't know where you're from but if it's an area that doesn't see much casino action it would definitely be worth it to run over to the hard rock casino. It's only about 15-20 minutes and it's pretty great and plenty of food options inside.
