You know how Saban is always saying we keep shooting ourselves in the foot? Well Lee was usually the guy holding the smoking gun. C-Ya!

Not a gun, more like a bazooka!:goof:

Another joint trait: none of them could play worth a lick.

Well, I got my wish that Chester and Thompson were both axed. But I don't like Saban's underhand method of removing Derrius Thompson. Frankly, it's low class to the max and that's becoming very predictable of Nick Saban, the same guy who had others in the organization basically tell Braylon Edwards we were going to take him. There is one poster here who met Derrius Thompson and calls him his favorite player. No doubt Thompson is a genuinely good guy who deserves a chance to play in thw league this year. His performance last Thursday should have helped him somewhat in that regard. No way we were going to keep him above Gilmore. I don't buy the claptrap it's pure business and that's the way everyone does it. Saban manipulates with his own best interests in mind and screw everyone else. He better succeed bigtime in this league, because plenty will be piling on his corpse if he fails. How can anyone question the reason the local press corps is negative toward the team? Can you imagine the type of garbage they must have to put up with with this guy in charge?

I posted yesterday I was baffled by the TE decisions on Thursday. Lee barely had any chances and Sage spent an entire quarter throwing to no one but Alex Holmes. Aha. Obviously that was an audition. The coaching staff wanted receiving types at the #2 and #3 slots. Diamond was obvious to stick based on his huge amount of playing time with the first unit. As much as I like Donald Lee and his blocking intensity/skill, he is a flawed receiver who lacks instincts there and always will. Holmes may have dropped the ball but looked good doing it, if that makes any sense. He got downfield easily and went for the ball with his hands. He looks plenty like Diamond in many respects. I can't be unhappy when another product of my alma mater becomes a Dolphin.
You don't earn a roster spot by being a nice guy. That said though, I thought that he had earned in by playing. I also had hoped that neither Gilmore or Thompson would be cut. Basically because I couldn't really decide between the two.

As far as Saban's actions, Thompson really may be hurt. There really hasn't been any info out on that.

Let me guess... you're mad about the AJ demotion?

why does everybody assume that Saban is doing something wrong in sending DT to the IR? He might have a torn hamstring, and those keep you out for a long time.

Ir means he still gets paid?

also

RB Lamar Gordon - One of the biggest surprises by far, sure Gordon has been terrible for us but I was really expecting that we would end up trading him instead of releasing him.

Not sure he had any value. Everyone knows that Minor or Gordon will be cut soon...why give anything up for either of them?

Saban said it would only be several weeks... a torn hammy would put him out for the whole season.
