FYI QB Challenge today

Thanks for the heads up. It will be on in five min.

so there was only one short segment with Boomer, Marino, Elway, I watched the last 20 mins of it and it had Hasselback, Carson Palmer, Joey Harrington. It sucks that I missed it, I hope it's on a again later. Oh well the second half will be tomrrow, and NFL Network will play it all throughout next so, that's good.

If you didn't see it, you didn't miss much. The old guys only did one event. Elway won it.

In its 16th year, the EA SPORTS NFL Quarterback Challenge tests the NFL's premier quarterbacks, which this year include: Drew Brees (San Diego Chargers), Jake Delhomme (Carolina Panthers), Joey Harrington (Detroit Lions), Matt Hasselbeck (Seattle Seahawks), Byron Leftwich (Jacksonville Jaguars), Carson Palmer (Cincinnati Bengals) and Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers). The quarterbacks will compete in four different skills competitions: accuracy, speed and mobility, long distance throw and "No Huddle." Participating in the "No Huddle" timed event in which the quarterback must complete passes to receivers are Torry Holt (St. Louis Rams), Joe Horn (New Orleans Saints), Chad Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals) and Keenan McCardell (San Diego Chargers).

Since Manning, McNabb, Culpepper, Favre, & McNair are not competeing i guess a premier QB isn't what i thought it was.

Dan looked horrible. Very sad to see. He ran some smack before
hand on how he was going to beat Boomer E. Boomer beat him.

Yeah that's too bad. Really gives you a feel for how the young guys really are better than the aging dudes even though the aged ones are the best ever.

Drew Brees was awesome in the mobility drill where you have to throw at the end of the obstacle course. He hit the bulls eye with his throw both times, nobody else even came close except Hasselbeck. Some voodoo math gave Hasselbeck the win on that event though, not sure why. He did run really fast.

The accuracy drill, Delhomme is the man is all I can say on that.

Marino still has a pretty quick release though, but his accuracy was terrible.

Elway looked pretty darn good though.

damn i wish i could have seen it....really how bad was Dan? did it look like a junior high QB could throw it better than him?

i bet he still can throw it better than fiedler....lol

Yeah Elway looked excellent. I thought Marino's showing was poor just because he admitted he prepared for it and even practiced with the moving targets like they had.

I actually found the whole thing to be a pretty telling event. Joey Harrington looked horrible, and, well, he is horrible. Brees looked unbelievable in the mobility drill, especially at the end when he had to throw the ball at a target about 10-15 yards directly ahead of him...perfect spiral, right on the money dead center of the target both times he did it. But, when he had to stand still and throw at moving targets, his balls were not fully accurate, and they fell short and died in the air at the end of the long throws.

Jake Delhomme, admittedly for the second time in two days, ran the mobility drill the wrong way lol. All the talent in the world though, from the looks of his arm and accuracy.

The cream of this crop was Delhomme and Hasselbeck, IMO. We still have to see the next two drills tomorrow (long ball and 2-minute drill), but I can already see how Hasselbeck won last year and Delhomme will win this year. That accuracy drill involved a lot of long balls, which is a disadvantage to Brees...and I can imagine when they do the long ball tomorrow, Brees may have the shortest ball of anyone...otherwise I think Brees could have mounted a good run at Delhomme & Hasselbeck.

Leftwich and Rothlesberger are just lookin kind of average out there but not making mistakes so they're hanging in there.

Dan still throws a good ball but his accuracy was off. The only drill they did they got to throw 3 balls at a target moving left, 3 balls at a target moving right, then one ball at two targets that were traveling on deep post routes. None of the old guys hit the deep post route, and Dan's accuracy was off on the left/right targets.

Everytime the ball left his hand you could hear it pop. If they could have took three turns a piece it might have been totally different. Except for Kosar, who looked old and weak.
