How could he? No one of any substance wants anything to do with this job, so whoever does get it will have no credibility. The horse left the barn.

Dolphins are truly doomed if Ross owns them.

I kind of agree. If he takes the job, he is nothing more than a cuckold. It must be degrading to know that he was like the 10th option, and he was the one they knew the best.

If he thinks he can get the job done, he takes the job. Simple as that.

Mike Pettine said it best at his introductory press conference as HC of the Browns. He said he doesn't give a crap if he was the first choice or the 99th. He believes he can get the job done, and that it's his dream job since he was a kid. He'd be a fool not to pass it up and if anything it's just going to motivate him that much more. Nobody thinks less of Mike Pettine for taking that job even though he was obviously like the 10th choice.

Gaine taking the job doesn't make him any less of a man or anything of that nature. The person who is being made a fool of here is Steve Ross.

Give Gaine the chance to prove the doubters wrong. I suspect this is the kind of man who would want a challenge like that.

Just don't hire one of the other two D-listers.

Good perspective

I think if you don't hire Gaine it makes this situation worse.

I agree with that, because Gaine is the only candidate we would be able to dump after a year, and the other candidates left aren't ones you would really want longterm

Totally agree!!

The kind of pride u r taking about puts u under a bridge trying to eat someone's face off!!!

Cowards run from opportunities in life. Only 32 GM jobs exist in the NFL. Pride or not, if you think you have the stuff, you take it.

Were you born with a silver spoon in your mouth?:idk:

Well In Casarios case he has been with a great organization for 10 years and who knows what was actually said in interview. Why leave if you will have less say than u want and maybe lose your job in a year just because Philbin doesn't get it done. I was hoping to get him but Belichek and Kraft have done a lot more for him than Ross has to this point.

There once was a clueless owner named Ross
who tried to hire a new GM boss.
After countless rejections
throughout the selection
he settled for Gain not to make Dawn cross.
