Agree with everything and could not have said it better myself. Especially about Henne. As crappy as it is to lose, I am OK with tonight's game. The offense is lightyears ahead of last year's garbage. Despite just about one of the the worst defensive performances that I can remember watching from the Dolphins, the team was one yard away from cutting it to 7 points in the 4th quarter.
And you're right on about Marshall and Bush. I don't have all that high hopes for Bush, but you can see the potential of what he can do for this offense. I think they need to not force him to be a between the tackles runner, though. Even though he showed he can, I just think they need to use him in other ways. I guess you got to keep the defense honest, but I just saw too much of it from him for my liking.
The defense showed nothing tonight. I'll chalk this up to not being prepared well by Nolan, and playing against Brady. If they show up against next week, and look this inept, then I'll be concerned. I'd put money down that they play pretty damn well next week though. This game will wake em up.
And finally Henne. He looked great. He looked like a playmaker tonight. He was throwing passes only his guy could get, played with poise, ran for TDs and 1st downs, eluding pressure, and just not making any truly stupid throws like we've become accustomed to see. People wanted Orton over the offseason, and I admit, I think it would have been nice to bring him in. But all he is is a game manager. He won't go out and take away a game from anyone. As ****ty as the defense was, Henne was doing what he could to take this one away. I didn't see this from him in years past, but I saw it tonight. This is the most important thing that I'm taking away from tonight. Sure it's only one game. I'm not predicting him to keep playing like this. But if he can... then we have our QB. I'm not talking about 300+ yards every night. But he made the plays when we needed them. The 2nd half shows you what he can do when you limit penalties and give him decent field position.
