- First and most important, if Chad Henne continues to play like this, we now have a quarterback. If that's something we found out from this game, then we found out an awful lot. Of course one game does not make a quarterback, but surely you have to be glad Chad Henne didn't go out there and lay an egg. Imagine how you'd feel right now if you coupled the outcome of the game with the fact that Chad Henne played horribly. Instead, you get to feel hopeful that we indeed have a quarterback who can help us win games during the remaining 15.
- Brandon Marshall and Reggie Bush provide weapons that need to be accounted for on offense. Those two players alone can get a team down the field.
- Anthony Fasano looked tremendous. Someone gave him an injection of athleticism at some point, because his agility and ball skills looked much improved. That's a huge weapon for Henne if it continues.
- The defense got shredded, no doubt about it, but I can promise you this: LOTS of defenses will be shredded by this New England offense this year. Mark my words. Tom Brady is engineering an offense that can attack you with multiple weapons, and he knows how to pick you apart with it. We won't be the only team that looks woeful against New England this year, trust me.
- That said, cutting Will Allen was a definite mistake. I'd be on the phone to him ASAP, and Nolan Carroll would be gone.
EDIT: Two additional points I should've made originally, one positive, one negative: 1) the offensive line didn't look nearly as bad as many, myself included, had anticipated, and 2) the inside pass rush (Starks, Odrick, Merling) was an area of concern, as QBs like Brady need a pass rush in their face up the middle if you're going to combat them adequately.
