Jason Taylor is still in the league? 6-7 years ago I might be nervous about him, but I doubt the Pats are keying him as an impact player. He did absolutely nothing with the Jets.

Nothing? 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and a safety. If that was nothing what did NE defenders have to offer last year?

You do know JT lead the Jets in sacks last year right?

He was close. Bryan Thomas had 6.

and maybe you forgot that the 49rs went with back to back Hall of Famers with Montana and Young. It was only when the ownership changed that they fell apart.

Miami also went back to back HOFers (Griese, Marino) but after Marino and Young retired, who has been thier Franchise QB? Even though Miami and San Fran have not had a quality QB since the change in ownership, ownership has not changed with the Steelers, Vikings, Colts, Broncos, Bills.

thats funny, that used to be said after BB's gig in cleveland. i remember those days and the bernie kosar thang.

Then you'd remember that BB improved that team year after year, bringing it to the play-offs until that incompetent owner up and announced that the team would be moving to Cleveland at the end of the season. The team was 3-1 at the time and they mailed it in... Oh.. and the owner made BB the lame duck by saying that BB wouldn't be going with them regardless of what happened.

Matthew Slater, Gronkowski and Hernandez all say "HI". Wes Welker says, "We don't need no stinkin deep threat" after his 99.5 yard catch and run..

The 49ers fell apart because of salary cap violations.

Miami fell apart because they never prepped a real QB to replace Marino.

The Colts look like they are headed to a losing season because they've failed to prep a real QB to be behind Manning.

The Pats have gone out of their way to prep their back-ups.. Naysayers said Cassel would fail. Yet Cassel has done excellent. Hoyer looks to be the real deal as well. Mallett, has promise, but is still very young. Only time will tell how Mallett develops, but I'd not bet against him.

Every Dynasty comes to an end and it has little to do with ownership...it doesn't matter if you are talking about the Packers of the 60's, Dolphins and Steelers of the 70's, Niners of the 80's, Cowboys of the 90's, or the Patriots of the 00's. Players get old, retire, take more money elsewhere. Almost all of the guys from the Patriot's last SB win in 2004 are LONG GONE.

Yep. You're right. There are only 4 players left from that 2004 SB. Brady, Branch, Light, and Faulk. How many players on Miami were there in 2004 besides Jason Taylor?

The difference between the Pats and the other "dynasties" is that they did in an era without Free Agency (except the Cowboys, but they didn't do squat in the tail end of the 90s') .. So it was much easier for them to keep their teams together. Despite free agency, the Pats have been able to win 3 SBs in 4 years and go to 4 in 7 years. BB's defenses tend to start off slow and get better (as seen by last year's team finishing 8th in points allowed despite allowing 24 or more points in 8 games).
