Garrard A Fin?

If we signed Gerrard, we now have to cast offs for QBs. One from a poor JAGs team that started Gabbert over Gerrard and second a cast off from a 2-14 Panthers team that thought moore was not even a good backup.

Now all we have is the draft. If Moore is our starter then dolphins will have to sign him for 2 more years and increase his salary to 6.5 Million per year else he holds out. this is one reason they would sign Gerrard. I would rather watch Tebow throw incompletions and run for TDs then watch Gerrard play.

If we dont draft a starting caliber QB that can start after one year then I am out after 42 years of watching the phins. I was there during the glory days and now I will not watch Gerrard play QB as a starter. Dolphins have to cut and restructure players just to get Gerrard or extend Moore who now has the upper hand. the yearly salary will be about 5 or 6 M for them.

doesnt make a lot of sense to this deal right now if he is just going to be a 2nd or 3rd guy. could have waited until after the draft or into the summer. doubt there were any other teams that would have signed him. either they have bigger plans for garrard or it was really bad timing.

I really hope Jeff Ireland's got something good on draft day. I respect not overpaying for free agents. I really do. But the moves this front office is making, if there's some larger plan at work here, I'd love to know what it is. Because looking at this stuff objectively, it looks like we've just handed Joe Philbin a big old turd sandwich for his offensive gameplanning.

I really couldn't agree more with this post. I've tried to give Ross and Ireland the benefit of the doubt- I really have. And I get why they traded Marshall. But what are you replacing him with? What IS the plan? Because what they're doing is VERY difficult to defend on its face.

Garrard isn't that bad, he had absolute crap at the skill positions in Jacksonville and still put up respectable numbers. God we have seen worse . . . how some of you can think this is a low point I really question your history with the team.

They had to get another vet in to compete and he's as good as the others still our there. Bet Matt Moore is smiling.

garrard 's career qb rating is basically Moore at his best rating. Believe me i dont want this to be our signing though

Aren't we trying to upgrade from Matt Moore, though? I'm sorry, but David Garrard coming off of back surgery and saying his 'heart just wasn't in it' last season really doesn't make me feel any better about 2012. Not at all. I think we might legitimately be trying to blow for Barkley now.
