i hate when a player is called versatile and he absolutely sucks at one of the positions .

Well supposedly he will be competing for the starting job so it wasnt just strictly as backup

Get a grip.... Signing Garrard to a one year contract is not saying that he is our future... He is going to be a stop gap QB that will provide competition for Moore this season and it also means we are going to draft a QB this draft... Probably Tannehill...
 
Good backup? Whose our ELITE quarterback then? Better yet, whose he throwing to, Hartline. I'm sure that'll keep defence coorindinators up at night

oh hes absolutely a top 15 BPA as far as skill set. but it all comes back to how high should you take a running back..
limited years of use and the history of finding unreal guys in all rounds of the draft or even off the street. he will probably go top 10... maybe even top 6, and although he is clearly the best running back in this class.. i still wouldn't love the pick that high.

if its any OL besides Kalil... id rather trich, dont get me wrong.. but if morris claiborne, Blackmon, Kalil and Trich are sitting there.... hes 4th on my list.
 
I remember the majority of us were thinking "Good riddance, Jeff Fisher, why would we every give you control over personnel?" I can guarantee that Jeff Fisher would not have signed David Garrard.

We backed ourselves into this corner. Now hopefully philbin will help draft 2 QBs in this draft and next year may not be a playoff year. Phins will be picked third or last again. If I am wrong then Philbin will be coach of the year.

Actually he was scheduled to meet the Rams tomorrow. Rams have Feeley as a backup.. This isnt such a bad signing!

Yes, Garrard is a Dolphin. He was due to visit the Rams after visiting the Dolphins. Perhaps he believes Miami’s inability to land Peyton Manning or Matt Flynn or, apparently, Alex Smith makes it easier for Garrard to win the starting job.​
