Gary Myers in todays NY Daily News

Since David Carr is a proven young veteran, I'd give up a #1 for him. The chances of him being a bust here are a lot less than a rookie who has never seen a NFL field. Besides, a pick is ONLY one player.
David Carr has played 4 full seasons in the NFL, and what has he done? NOTHING!! I am not trading an ALL-PRO Running Back + a draft pick
OF ANY KIND for him. If Houston wants Ricky Williams, fine. But not an additional draft pick. I know Williams is 1 strike away from being banned, but
at least he is a young player who has done something in this league.

I didn't say anything about Ricky Williams.
I said David Carr is a good young QB. If we draft a QB, are you going to be happy that the Dolphins aren't going anywhere for 3-4 years? Thats how long it's going to take a QB to mature and learn the NFL game. Sure, sometimes teams get lucky, Big Ben in Pittsburgh, Miami with Marino, but you can't really count on that. I'am not saying Carr or Simms is the answer, but everybody wants a young QB + wants to win now. It usually doesn't happen that way. I'am saying that Carr or Simms is better than what we have now, but I never said anything about Ricky.

No way we will trade Williams AND a #1 pick, Saban is far too smart to do that.

i agree with that 100%. i would not mind getting carr, but no way i would give up williams and pick 16.

That's the worst trade I've heard about in my life. Do you really think Nick Saban is gonna fall for that crap. I don't think so.

just say no.

In todays NY Daily News Gary Myers talks about the Texans and who they are or should draft with the No. 1 pick. He lays out 3 scenarios...
1...Houston drafts Bush and keeps Carr
2...Houston drafts Young and trades Carr to Miami for Williams and Miami's No.1 pick,. A rumor he his hearing.
3...Houston drafts Young and exercise the option on Carr and Young learns for one season behind Carr..... not likely
Now i like the idear about getting Carr matter of fact he is the QB i want on the Fins next year, but that is way to much to give up. Williams straight up , yeah i would do that and i love Williams, but remember he is 1 puff away from 1 yr ban. They would have to come to some kind of mutual agreement about Ricky if he gets banned again.Stay turn we will be hearing ALOT of Ricky rumors over the coming months as we already are starting to hear some. ENJOY THE OFF SEASON FELLOW FIN FANS

MiaFins1...don't be dissapointed when/if the Fins give up RW and a pick for Carr or any other decent QB...remember rule #1 of acquiring a QB...YOU ALWAYS, ALWAYS OVERPAY FOR A QUARTERBACK. That is a fact of NFL life. Don't fret, with Saban we can assume it'll be worth it in the long run. But be prepared to overpay for whomever we get as QB, be that in salary, trade compensation, or drafting a guy (for example, Jay Cutler is not rated near the top of the QBs and has some questions, but he's a sure-fire 1st rounder. That is because of demand (about 10 teams could be looking for a qb) and the position itself.

My advice is for you to just deal with it...

I agree with you to a point, the QB is the most important position in football. In order to get a good QB, who do have to pay or give up something. I'd rather give up a pick and get someone like Carr and know what he's got and know that he can play now, then use that pick on a guy that's going to sit for a year and not really do anything for 3 years.

Might consider a our first rounder for Carr. Straight up. He could be more valuable then he seems. After all he has been the most sacked and pressured qb in the league since he broke in. Can anyone confirm this?

ricky williams isn't the future rb of this franchise...he isn't going to sign a long term (cheap) deal here and if we can get david carr for him i'm all for it. honestly, i trust any and everything saban does.

Good point.

A 2nd is all I'll do for Carr. It's hard to trade for someone who hasn't done much.

On the rumor thing. The greg cote blog had a rumor that was actually made up on finheaven in one of the many trade scenarios threads we have.

what was it?

Oh comon has nobody else thought that with Ferguson probably having good workouts, the Texans will trade with the Jets to the 4th overall pick?

Ricky plus a #1,maybe if Speilman and pornstache were still at the helm

They would trade Ricky, a first, and a third for Carr. They might throw in Crowder for good measure.
