yeah zimmer is for sure if he doesn't get a qb...if i was edwards yeah you may be set up for problems somewhat but you can always get another position coach job if it falls thru...that and who the hell wants to work with our lb core...the only thing they are gonna do is make you look bad i dont care how much you coach em up

Yeah but he didn't exactly do a great job with Dansby and Burnett either and he was awful as the DC of the Bills.

In a 3-4, our LB's in Ellerbe/Misi inside, and Wake/Jordan would be among the best. JMO

Love to see Zach Thomas become a LB coach....

Does Zach have any coaching aspirations? He was incredibly well prepared as a player.
Different skills required going from player to coach where it's about teaching and developing others. Very rare for a truly great player to make the transition to coach. More likely the players with ordinary skills who successfully make the transition. However, there are exceptions, eg Ditka.

I thought Edwards might be on hot seat in Miami because of how the new linebackers performed. But apparently he's highly regarded.

I sat next to his niece on the flight home after the game vs. Atlanta. She was a nice chick. Oh well.

Really interesting that an expert in Defenses in Zimmer, finally gets his opportunity as a Head Coach and the very first thing he does is appoint Edwards as DC. Absolutely amazing.
The Linebackers were clearly the biggest problem on the Dolphin Defense, and a major source of frustration in the money Ireland splashed around like a drunken sailor.
Remember Coyle was Zimmer's DB coach in Cincinatti for a number of years.

Why. Because he was a great player. Let him learn the coaching trade for a few years in the nfl before anointing him as a linebacker coach.
