glad we passed on benson

what if people boo or question him during the year?

what if people on here say stuff about you? now what if 50 different people told you to your face what a peice of sh*t you were?

Benson would rather have won the Heisman than have won a national championship. This means he would rather be the league MVP than win a SB. Not the kind of player I want on my team. Brown won't even complain about splitting carries if it would benefit the team.

I think crying was a little much. But maybe the kid has been stressed, worrying about sh*t. I like him and think he will be comparable to Brown. Either way we were to go we were golden. Only knock on Benson is all the wear and tear. 4 year starter I believe. Ronnie Brown is extremely fresh.

Maybe he was just happy because his dreams of playing in the NFL had come true.....

The crying really did make him come off like he was mentally unstable, which isn't the best way to end Ricky Williams comparisons.

Before I saw somebody else already made the Vermiel joke, I was going to say Dick saw him on TV and decided his next coaching stop would be Chicago. ;)

So are you a big sissy when you win the Super Bowl? I see players crying every year when they win the super bowl. Its not 3rd stringers crying here its starters. Don't knock a guy for having emotions. You would be crying to if all you heard these past couple of weeks was comparisons of him and Ricky. Maybe he was worried that he wasn't gonna get drafted as high anymore.

I don't know what impression you got when we drafted Brown but I would have liked to seen a smile or something when he went up to the podium or had his interview with Suzie. I was a little worried because at that time he looked less then thrilled to be a Dolphin. Out of the Top 5 picks I think he is the only one to show no real happiness to being picked. He will be a stud on the team but there isn't any reason he can't show some happiness.

Just cause the NFL is a Man's game doesn't mean there isn't any emotion involved. This is what these players have dreamed of their whole lives and it is something to be able to be emotional about.

the crying cedric benson would have been a bad mistake. The way we was blaming everybody on how bad he was treated and the tears made me ill he's going to be a millonaire. there is no crying in football oh ya i forgot hines ward does. let me know how you feel.

The guy went through the biggest emotional rollercoaster with the press and all the scouts ...

After he realized everything was ok after being selected 4th he let it all hang out. I loved it, he's passionate.

No camera crew should every do a closeup on Benson again! Benson is one ugly a$$ dude!

I must have missed that. I was paying attention to who the teams were drafting instead of whether or not the the draftees were cute.

almost every top ten pick cried when he was picked yesterday

Only Ced raised it to that level, though.

If anyone deserved a cry, it was Rodgers. He manned up and handled the pressure. It raised my esteem for him just as Ced's outburst lowered my esteem for him just a little.

what's wrong with some tears

first off...that would be so awesome to be drafted...it's their life's dream...what's wrong with a little tears...

secondly...i remember another certain soon-to-be hall of famer who didn't care if he cried cause he was an emotional dude....Mr. Emmitt Smith
he's done so on several occasions...all very emotional times...i think it's pretty cool actually

the thing about benson that I thought was funny though....was not the crying...but the fact you couldn't understand a single thing he was saying when she was interviewing him, lol, it was like none of the phrases went together or made any coherent sense....good times

Ask a man an emotional question when he is already emotional. It was obvious he didn't want to talk about it. Man I hate Suzie Kolber.

Rodgers what a joke. I thought that whole "manned" up and handled the pressure stuff was BS. What else was he supposed to do? He was already prepped to "handle" it. It wasn't that big of a surprise.

I gained and lost nothing for either about the situation. It was all people looking for stupid reasons to like or hate people. Plus I could understand how effing annoying it would be to be associated with a person because you idolized his football ability when that person did what Ricky did.

i like ronnie brown over benson. ronnie has those great pass catching ckills that make him very exciting to me.

He was crying because he is a spoiled brat. He said he had to reschedule an interview with one team and a scout asked him if he was going to show up everyday in pratice?

I guess that was too muh for him...

I think Benson was the best back and I think he will be the most productive back of all. However, I think Brown was a good pick. Benson was crying and certianly feels like he has soemthing to prove. I will take a talented guy with something to prove any day.

I wish him the best of luck. I am glad he is in the NFC.

I don't see how that's annoying at all, and Benson could have killed all of that talk if he had just laughed it off.

Rodgers may have known it was coming, but that still doesn't change experiencing it. Benson knew the Ricky stuff was coming, too. I'd far rather go through a few weeks of crackpot theories that don't have an effect on my future than go through the rollercoaster Rodgers went through, watching millions slip through my fingers on live national TV.

Benson needs to deal with his emotions in a more productive manner if nothing else.
