Our goal line & short yardage running seems weak this year.

Marcus Allen was legendary for his ability to jump over the pile in goal line & short yardage situations. He was almost unstoppable when doing so.

Could Reggie Bush do the same?

Very few running backs have Reggie's 4.3 speed combined with a 41" vertical leap.

We've already seen Reggie demonstrate incredible leaping ability on the field (like his superman-sideline-TD leap from the 6 yd line, as a Saint against the Dolphins).

Maybe having Reggie Bush dive over the pile could be a solution to our goal line & short yardage woes. Like how Marcus Allen always did it.

run for pylons better option i think
if the hole is not there reggie runs into a wall or jumps into a wall.
He doesn't have the power of a fullback to
consistently grind out tough yards.

I think options would be the best in that situation.

I don't think they tried Bush up the middle on the goal line enough to really gauge what he can do. Listen to the media they act as if Bush was turned away a half a dozen times from the one.

Allen played in a different era, guys are bigger and stronger and quicker as well as more athletic. I assume all that might be factored in when comparing.

We are a spread offense now and thank God for that. Last year we would would of scored 10 points in that game. A growing pain might be figuring out how to mix in the power game.

Personally I'm not a Sparano fan but given Clay and Thomas weren't active I have to give the staff a flyer on that game.

Reggie seems like the guy who would be best running tosses and sweeps all game. Our line isn't going to open up big holes for him every time. Daniel Thomas can run between the tackles whereas Reggie needs space to operate. Though it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

We should have given him some goal line carries against the Pats. He does really well around the goal line. I think a swing pass or a quick toss would work best.

I really don't care if Henne tucks the football under his jersey and sneaks into the endzone, if it results in a touchdown I'm good with it.

NO NO NO NO>>> If yo have reggie bush then you toss sweep at the goaline...works everytime with that speed or his

It does seem foolish to run him at the line with Hainesworth and Wilfork in there... considering the problems we have had at G and Reggie's size. Kinda makes you wonder just WTF were they thinking.

I like your idea of him going over the top on occasion. If he did it too often...A LB will clean his clock but if he keeps them guessing it would work.
