Good news for UK fin fans

Good news! Thought I was going to have to rely on my Pontel subscription!


Got hooked about the time of superbowl XXI, was supposed to a sports report at school and being soccer mad at the time, when told to do another sport other than "football" I thought I'd be a smart a** and do American Football as I had seen an advert a week earlier! Got hooked from then on really, didn't follow a team the first year and then saw The fins play the jets and was just amazed at the way Marino threw the ball! Closest I've been to a game is the american bowl at Wembley in 1988.

i was there. ive still got it on tape. One of the best atmospheres i ever saw at wembley. It was 31st July 1988 which was my 18th birthday!!! Great days.
 
\o/ great news , heard it at last night and meant to post here but fell asleep and forgot :D
 
Good news chaps--It will come as some relief as we wont be on MNF this year. I got interested in the Dolphins back in the early 80's when after a session one night at my local I come home to find US football on tv. The Fins against Washington in Riggins SB. We may have lost that day, but from then on I became more and more interested in the game and particularly with my Dolphins. Managed to get live games in 86 and 87 through Pontel, but after that coverage was limited to 1 hour highlight games on C4 (thank god for that) until sky started showing live games. Absolutely delighted to be a member of this site and it is great to converse with you guys, listening to your opinions and views. Also made some good friends, they know who they are. I think they know me as Ciderman :lol:
 
Think i'm gonna have to try and get on camera now then, i was hoping the season opener would be on Sky, can tape it now. Might try and take a banner in with me :D

Do they allow signs to be taken in at Dolphins Stadium?


EDIT: in fact, when we are 21-0 up in the 3rd i'm gonna start the EASY, EASY chants soccer AM style (one for the brits there :D)
 
dont even think about that chant , its just about they gayest thing ive ever seen at a football match. Almost as pish awful as that save chip thing they did

Get a banner though m8 then we can abuse you if you are an ugly ******* :D :p

Nah, everyone knows the gayest thing in football is the SPL ;):D

I agree, the atmosphere was fantastic! especially at the end when Archer bootlegged in for the score - I was at the other end of the field and everyone went left and he went right.. completely amazing!

Still have the tape and have even managed to put it onto DVD before the tape wore thin! :D

yeah... you should definitely do that... i wouldnt, but i think your cool enough to pull it off ;)
 
man, I was all excited to see the heading about UK, I thought is was University of Kentucky. bummer
 
thats fantastic news not only UK fin fans, but UK NFL fans as well. Was really getting worried that Sky would lose interest in the NFL as I believe their contract was up.

By the way does anyone know if channel 5 are going to continue to show monday and sunday night football games? We really were spoilt last season with NFL coverage on two channels. Fingers crossed, hopefully this will continue!

I got hooked into the NFL by my cousin who was a 49ers fan. Actually went to Candlestick park when I was young. Of course I couldn't follow the same team, so the next best QB to Joe Montana was Dan Marino, who played for the Dolphins of course. When you're young, you always look at the offense, but as you grow older you tend appreciate the defense more.

Oh and how could I forget Gary Imlach & Mick Luckhurst on channel 4. What two better presenters could you find to introduce you to the NFL. It nearly brought a tear to my eye to see old Gary on ITV last season.

Yeah they were better than the vicious boys. Thay knew nothing about the game and were totally embarrassing
