Gordon's Trade Value

Lamar Gordon? Pffffffttttt.

I doubt you could get an 1812 Stanley Steamer with a busted boiler, rusted-out floor-pans, a cracked engine block, a stripped clutch, and sprung springs for Lamar Gordon. Maybe if you threw in Derrius Thompson and Donald Lee....

The only way to get anything for him is if a team goes through a couple of running backs in training camp and are in desperate need of one. Other than that, maybe a conditional late round pick.

Why? He having chronic injury problems? Serious question.

buckhalter is injured w/ knee problems that hurt him last year. I heard it may force him into retiring.

Trade of the century:

Fins-HB Lamar Gordon
WR Derrius Thompson
C Seth McKinney
TE Donald Lee
QB AJ Feeley
G Taylor Whitley
CB Reggie Howard

McDonald's-A number 3 large with a powerade:fire: and all those lost draft picks. Can anyone find them?

It's beginning to feel that Lamar Gordon won't be a big part of our success this season. What round pick do you think we could get for him. Someone is probably going to need a back between now and the start of the regular season due to some kind of injury.

My feeling is that we could get a 5th, maybe 4th round pick for him but that is probably a reach.

Without reading a single post I answer zip, zero, zilch unless you are Rick Spielman. Travis Henry only got the Bills a 3rd and he is 3 times the back Gordon is. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a 9th rounder or we might have a chance.

Oh c'mon now. Lamar's no star, but he is a 2nd or 3rd string back in the NFL. He's not going to disappear off the face of the earth if we cut him. That being said, he would probably only fetch a 6th or so. There are teams that could use the depth at running back.

Does anyone no if Ricky counts as a roster spot for the first 4 games of the season? If not, I think Lamar stays on the roster untill week unless we can trade him. I think it's 50/50 he would get cut after that.

This is going against everyone else, but yes I think he has trade value. Can we get 3rd round pick back for him? Heck No! However, I think he is worth a 6th or even a 5th rounder. Look, last year we traded Brad Bedell to the Packers for a 7th rounder in the 2006 draft and he was only a few days away from being cut by us. I really think a team like Jacksonville could potentially offer a 5th or 6th rounder to make sure they can get him at a cheap price. Even though Gordon has struggled lately, he would be a very hot comodity on the market if we just flat out released him.

I started a very similar thread to this back on the day we played Jacksonville (I believe I named it "shouldn't we start to deal for Lamar Gordon"....and all I got were a bunch of responses like: "we can we possibly get for a guy who can't even get a first down?" or "We won't get anything for a guy who can't even stay healthy"...so go figure. Didn't Jimmy Johnson once say something like "I can get a sixth round pick out of taking a crap"...well, I fugured something would be better than nothing.

Nil value. I think he is going to get cut and teams will just wait to pick him up them. Goodbye Minor and Gordon. Minor served us well but I just do not think he will make the final roster cuts. I believe KJ will make it based on potential and cost effectiveness.

Gordon does not have any trade value.
This is Lamar Gordon when he hears the ball is going to be handed to him.

if a spot comes down to minor or harris, which it will, travis will make the team NOT kj. the reason i KNOW this and do not think it, is because saban said recently "whoever can fill the most roles will make the team when it comes to the final roster spots, and sammy morris, david bowens and travis minor have been excellent special teams players." no mention of kj. i wish you guys would get off this kid's tip. he's ron dayne jr.

Lamar was drafted out of a small college. OK size. Good speed; fast but not quick. No moves. Strictly straight line. Runs upright. Looked lost last:shakeno: year when he was thrown into the wolves. Was battling a fever and stomach virus, when Wanny stuck an IV in him before gametime against the Steelers on Monday night. Lost for the season after a 5 yard gain when the Steeler safety broke his shoulder with a pretty standard tackle. Wishes aside, he's not a keeper. Neither is Minor, (probably the most mediocre featured back in FSU history) but he'll probably stick.
