Gotta Love Frank Middletons Attitude!

Wow, where did this signing come from? I think it's great news.

he is a very solid lineman, he was always good for oakland and i for myself somehow forgot that he was waived by oakland earlier this year

To be honest, I think the reporter did a good job by asking that question because it made Frank further elaborate on why he thinks this team will be good. The reporters interviewing Middleton did a good job IMO because they got the answers to the questions we wanted to know about!! :)

Thats one way of looking at it. I don't believe for one second we are a 4-12 team. I think the team takes on the personality of it's coach and what happend last years was DW giving up after Ricky quit and it came across in practice. Along with weak game plans and a vanilla D and the results were 4-12.

On the other hand look at all the reports coming from places we have never seen before. Peter King, " Saban, IMO is one of the five best coaches on the planet". A few others are reporting Saban has our camp running like a machine. All of this leads me to believe we will be the opposite of last year. Excited players and coaches, hard working, well prepaired,Un-predictable,players depending on one another to come together as a singlre unit.

Look at the list above and tell me we weren't all of the in reverse last year every last word. Talent isn't the problem like some things I've read here it was attitude and coaching or lack of. Saban could turn Barney the dinosaur into a probowl football player just by having him prepaired and understanding his job on the field. Coaching is first and talent is second. You can talk anyone into anything as long as you can make them believe in what your selling. And that will be the biggest difference in this team this year.

before all of you start singing kumbayah why don't you ask yourself if he's so good or even serviceable why did it take this long for him to find a team?

he said he wanted to play for a winner. there were other teams who wanted him but he didn't want to finish his career for a loser. he believes in saban and the dolphins. he was a solid starter before his quad injury last year and was a salary cap casualty. i think he will start but u never know what really is going on until they play.

I love Nick Saban as a coach, but

he will be the first one to tell you that you can not coach talent, that is what our previous moron (whom i refuse to mention his name again) thought. Make no mistake about it Saban wants the most talented players he can get.

i can't believe this offseason. not in my wildest dreams could i think of things going better w/ coaches, draft picks, and free agent signings. everytime i think were done picking people up we go out and pick up another good lineman. saban is the master.

I agree. I can't wait to see what happens next each day. I understand it takes time to build a team and develop chemistry but I must say, the glass looks half full and each day were adding more water. At this rate, by the time were ready to play our first game, the water will be running out the cup. :)

So if Middleton plays right guard, does Hadnot move to center? If Hadnot moves to center, where does McKinney play? Left out?

McKinney's talents make him the perfect candidate for the position of Thermal Control Technician for Outdoor Seating, Resting, and Spectating Devices.

Yeah well we have yet to see Nick Saban coach the team on game day. Until I see this so called well oiled machine fire a round downfield, I'm holding back a bit and just enjoying the moment.
Once he gets the product on the field and him making adjustments while under pressure, with a decrease in stupid (shoot yourself in the foot) penalties, maybe then I will begin to feel better about Nick being one of the best coaches on the planet.

Good post, while I think Saban will do well in the long run, I know this team is still learning, even JT, says he's still trying to learn what to do..and that was today's interview, so people remember this is a transition year. We might put a lot of things together and make a run or we might make enough mistakes to make it a decent season. The reason I say temper your thoughts is because if Saban were as good as you think, he would have won more championships in College using a pro system. So it's also about players, I don't think we have all we need, but we have some good pieces.
