Dolphins sign ILB Kevin Burnett (4 years, $21 million; $9 million guaranteed): C Grade
If I were a Dolphin fan, I wouldn't be too happy that my team just shelled out $9 million guaranteed to Kevin Burnett. Burnett was deemed a huge disappointment until last season, so was he just playing for a contract? It says something that he'd abandon a very good team like the Chargers and sign up with a squad that has no shot at the playoffs this year. Free agents who solely chase money - and that appears what Burnett is doing here - seldom pan out.

Dolphins sign QB Matt Moore (2 years): B- Grade
This is a "meh" deal. Matt Moore is a nice veteran backup quarterback, but that's all he should be. If the Dolphins deem Kyle Orton too expensive and feel comfortable having Moore compete with Chad Henne for the starting job, they're going to be drafting in the top five come April.

Why would we pick in top 5 if we keep Henne as QB? He was the QB last year and was bad and we picked 15th. The rest of the team is improved or the same so not sure how this site now thinks we will have 4 or less wins. Actually I am not sure why anyone on the site thinks that.

Terrible article.

Already we don't have a shot at the playoffs according to this guy. Yeah I'm gonna listen to that crap.

God i hate the "picking top 5 in April" comment.

My blood pressure goes to critical thinking of our season tanking before it starts.

We may not agree with that article (I also think the grades should be reversed), but it gives us a chance to see OBJECTIVE opinions coming in on our team - like this one and like Warren Sapp and Rich Eisen on NFLN pretty much laughing at our Matt Moore signing.

Some Dolfans want to attack anyone on here as "non-fans" if we don't worship Ireland like a greek god. Well, I'm sorry but color me unimpressed with this offseason.

I don't see us getting Orton - he'll probably stay in DEN. Moore is below average. Bush is not a RB. He's a PR and a gimmick player - and even the Saints had trouble working him into their offense. Guys like Pierre Thomas and even an UDFA like Chris Ivory had no trouble blowing up in that offense - as actual RBs - while Bush always struggled to run between the tackles there. Ya think he's gonna be able to do it here with defenses not respecting Henne/Moore?!??

If we don't get the deal done with Orton than Cowher was right in waiting another year in the booth and he's ours..

I dont agree that Burnett abandoned the chargers because it seems the chargers wanted Takeo Spikes more than Burnett. Im ok with the Burnette signing but the writeup is correct that he was a dissapointment until last year so he could be right.

all i had to read is that the guy with more production in one year than Crowder had in a career gets a "C" .. and I stopped right there. That's the beauty or curse of electronic media - too much instant media gratification , not enough legitimate talent tends to assumptively validate any yokel's opinion.

To be fair, Burnett has not been impressive apart from last season.

Burnett is a 1 year wonder and an ex-cowboy.

Still probably better than Channing though

The grade doesn't take into account the "fail" that was Crowder. Just the fact that they got rid of Crowder makes the move deserve an A+. I don't even care if Burnett even ends up being the starter...all I know is that it won't be that piece of crap Crowder.

So, should we assume he won't be good this upcoming season? Soliai hasn't been impressive apart from last season, so will he suck this season? Players have breakout seasons all the time and for the most part can carry that in future years. The fact is, Burnett has gotten better each year before having a big breakout season last year. Crowder's numbers have been dropping. Whether he is as good as he was last season remains to be seen, what we do know that he is an upgrade over Crowder. Isn't that what matters most?
