Grades for Burnett and Moore

I honestly think getting rid of Ginn is what hurt Henne the most last year. We had 1 good receiver... and no fast receivers. No one could get open half the time. Our pretty poor rushing game didn't exactly help either.

Well that's because Marshall and Bess were double and triple covered most of the time. No defense pays any attention to Hartline because he sucks, and should only be a #4 or #5 receiver on a good offensive team, not a #2 guy.

that's why we better pray that Gates is the real deal and can perform well at a pro level starting week one, and take over the #2 spot. That or get Braylon Edwards at #2 to draw attention opening up Marshall and Bess a lot more. Bush is more of a slot receiver than he is a back out of the backfield as in new orleans he wasn't very good out of the backfield and played the slot mostly -- but knowing our stupid offensive coaching staff they'll use him out of the backfield for little check down dumpoffs that go for 4 yards and a cloud of dust.

When you don't have a fast proven seam-busting tight end but instead have a slow plodder like Fasano, then you better get yourself a damn good #2 WR or else it will not be much better than last year for the passing game

I can't believe people are actually complaining that the Dolphins replaced Crowder with Burnett. Just shows that there is nothing the Dolphins can do that won't receive backlash. Unbelievable.

Noone is complaining, im just being realistic that last season was his only impressive season. Crowder sucks and Burnett is going to be better.

How does any team double and triple cover both our receivers i dont think that would be a good defense and wonder what games u were watching lol

Burnett has had solid stats the past 2 years. A player usually cannot have a great year stat wise when he misses 6 games due to injury. It seems like he was not given the right opportunity in Dallas and ever since leaving has been playing the best football of his career.

LOL @ Double and Triple covered our best receivers.. Marshall was doubled, and for the most part Bess was singled. Hartline had a good season for it just being his second year. If Chad Henne quit over throwing him on deep balls he would probably have had over 700 yards this season..

BTW those 613 yards he got was only in 12 games..

"If the Dolphins deem Kyle Orton too expensive and feel comfortable having Moore compete with Henne for the starting job, they're going to be drafting in the top five come April."

That quote is pro. You couldn't hit the nail on the head any clearer. How can you pay that much for Burnett when our defense did just fine last season? Why didn't you pay that much for Orton? That was the position we needed to replace THIS season. Not LB. Holy cow... how awful can it get for Miami? We didn't even start the season yet and they have bombed in free agency.

Agreed. I would also add that Hartline does not 'suck'. He gets behind the defense quite a bit, he runs good routes and has deceptive speed. How many big plays could he have made last season if Henne had a bit more accuracy?

Completly agree with this statement!!!

This guy and the people who whine a lot on here are annoying. Burnett is an upgrade over Clam Chowder and Matt Moore has a lot of upside. Give him a chance to compete.

You know what is funny? This WalterFootball website bashes the Burnett signing yet lists him as the 5th best available inside linebacker on the free agent market. Only behind Stephen Tulloch, Paul Posluszny, David Harris(who was franchised by the Jets) and A.J. Hawk. Where do they list Channing Crowder on their free agent list? All the way down at 12. The fact that they replaced what they think is the 12th best inside free agent with the 5th best deserves a much higher grade than a C.

That site can't even keep their opinion the same and therefore is a complete joke.

Actually, that quote is the one that made me not take the whole article seriously. Even through all the mediocre QB play, we've still managed to go 7-9 and there's nothing about this team that is appreciably worse, except for maybe a running back situation that despite having two name players had grown fairly mediocre.

Is burnett better than crowder?? yes i think so . is moore better than thigpen? yes i think he is better also. that is the only important thing to me.

I have been referencing that site fore a few years now at draft time.

Dude does not like the Dolphins.

So far, cutting Crowder and replacing him with Burnett was the best move to upgrade the team. Only sad part is that LB was not a big need this offseason.

I also think Sparano and everyone else knows this is his last go round if we don't have a descent season. Right now, after the signings by the Pats ansd Jets, plus a better showing by the Bills makes that alot harder.
