Personally I don't think u can compare a Pro with a College team when talking about THE GREATEST.
If u argue about the best AT THEIR LEVEL i guess we'll have some saying the Hurricanes cause of the recent past, some the Dolphins cause of the perfect season.
Now..to know which one is the greatest ever of Florida, considering their influences and history, recent and long ago past and everything related to sports... u just gotta look OUTSIDE florida. Look in a world level..The Dolphins is definitely the greatest ever. You'll find dolphins fans at the all kinds of places and countries. Where will u find canes fans? At florida. (and some of them around US cause they moved from FL)
IMHO the phins are without a doubt the greatest.

Oh, and Heat and Marlins, I wouldn't even consider including them in this discussion.

1 has to be the '72 Dolphins. 2 is probably the '01/'02 Canes. 3 must go to either the '97 or '03 Marlins. The SB-winning Bucs team should be up there, and someone from the mid-90s FSU and UF. The '96 Panthers and '04 Lightning deserve mention. Knowing Sunshine, all the top teams will be from Orlando, Tampa, and Gainesville.

Keep in mind, I think the countdown was greatest individual seasons, not overall programs/franchises.

yes ole aqua ones the great one is back and he is looking better than ever .

i love all the miami teams - fins, heat, canes - kind of a vague question though - undefeated dolphins were probably the best team - heat are probably best team now and the canes football program probably best overall history - btw - welcome back merc!

Please, the Dolphins are clearly the greatest team in Florida.

The Canes were a joke until the mid 80's, and they have had a lot of down years over the last decade or so.

You can't really compare college teams to Pro teams anyway, its such a lower level, look at how many Canes for example don't make it to the Pros.

The Canes have produced more first rounders in the last five years than any University. There are more Hurricanes in the NFL than any other university. Miami is basically a farm team for the NFL. And if you can't compare the relative success of college teams and pro teams in their resepctive divisions, then whats the point of the thread?
