Greg Bedard's Saturday Practice Blog

WR David Boston not being on the field during the scrimmages. Even Saban doesn't know why he wasn't out there, but said he often finds out later. David told the media on Saturday that he's 100 percent, which makes his absence all the more puzzling. Still, he hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire so far. He's pretty invisible right now. Derrius Thompson has totally outplayed him.

Why am I not surprised ?

BTW Ithink Sabans intense practices is making marginal players think of retirement.

QUESTION: Does anyone know if the interview that appears on the official site was BEFORE or AFTER practice today?

If it was after, I'd say Boston missing the scrimmages would be no big deal. Because he still said he's 100%.

Gus Frerotte got so mad at a false start by the offensive line that he turned around and spiked the ball. Hard. That's the kind of fire I like to see out of a QB. A.J. needs to show that a little more before I would feel comfortable naming him my starter. A.J. has it in him and certainly shows emotion in games (remember when he scored against Seattle and fired the ball at the back wall?). He needs to do that in practice to assert his leadership

Thats what we need to see more of in this team, I dont care who becomes a good leader sas long as he gets the job done.

Boston was probably exhuasted thats why i think he sat out today, and thanks for the link.

Oh my, Feeley had a decent day. Somehow, someway the Feeley bashers will find a way to put a negative spin on it.

EDIT: We appreciate the attempt to turn the thread into yet another a petty argument. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry too much about Manuel's back right now. There is a big difference in having a muscle spasm in the back and having a radiculopathy coming from the back.

and somehow Feeley huggers will make a bigger deal out of 2 throws than there needs to be

why is there so much difference in the reports by Bedard and other posters here? Case in point, Crowder. Most guys on here said that he's been doing a good job, and being everywhere, while Bedard has said that he's been invisible most of the time.

That is true. There is a big difference between a muscle strain and chronic lumbar disc disease.

I rest my case. Note that I said he had a decent day (didn't make a big deal out of it). You obviously recognized yourself in my prior post.
