Greg Bedard's Saturday Practice Blog

At this point and I not rooting for either Feeley or Frerotte to be the starter. I really don't care who starts as long as it is the best player for the job. I am not going to hope one of the quarterbacks flop so the other one can be the starter. If Feeley is the best of the two, start him, if Frerotte is the best, start him.

Only thing that comes out of Frerotte starting is that the likely hood of a 1st round QB next year goes through the roof, and I am ok with that.

and somehow Feeley huggers will make a bigger deal out of 2 throws than there needs to be

I rest my case. Note that I said he had a decent day (didn't make a big deal out of it). You obviously recognized yourself in my prior post.

I rest my case, yada yada yada....

If you've read any of my previous posts, I'm pro-best QB. I'm not leaning one way or the other, just feel that Gus is getting the shaft by so many of these posters here, thats why I stick up for him a lot of the time.

I've never shafted him. In fact I think he was a good pickup. You have to admit, though, that when it comes to Feeley some of the bashers just make ridiculously uninformed remarks. On another thread for instance, someone suggested bringing in Quincy Carter, and stated that he was better than Feeley.

It actually goes both ways though you know? I'm sure you've read the threads started by guys who say stuff like "If Gus starts, the Dolphins will be terrible", or "We'll be in deep trouble if Gus starts", and these type of threads come from Feeley supporters (NOT Skape, or MDFINFAN, however).

Threads like those drive me crazy because it makes me wonder if people have the best interests of the dolphins in mind if Gus proves to be the better QB, yet they dont want him starting under any circumstances.

Honestly, I would LOVE to see Sage the starting QB, but I realize its not happening. I'm a big fan of Sage (as are others) because of what he brings to the table physically. Its nice that he has a good arm, and can scramble pretty well if necessary, unlike AJ and Gus. That, and that fact that he has not once complained or shown a lack of effort because of his standing on the depth chart.

What happens in camp doesn't mean a whole lot once the preseason starts. It will be very different when you have defenders actually trying to sack the QB, unlike now, where they just run at him. I fully expect Gus to start 2 preason games, and AJ to start 2. The last one, they'll probably both get snaps with the first team.

reading Bedard's blogs I don't know what to think. It somewhat worries me. His blogs compared to member camp reports...are ngiht and day almost.

Oh my, Feeley had a decent day. Somehow, someway the Feeley bashers will find a way to put a negative spin on it.

This is the problem. People bringing crap like this up and starting stuff.

In the future, please resist the urge to turn a thread into a petty argument that nobody else wants to read.

Derrius Thompson totally outplaying Boston to this point. Could that be rust, legs?? Boston not really 100 percent??

What's bothering me is the inconsistency in the passing game. The quarterbacks are up and down. And when the QBs get it right, we've got guys dropping TD passes. At least Chambers and McMichael are doing well. Especially Chambers. And Thompson too.

I am getting kind of worried aboit Boston out there. But i'm not as worried since Thompson is doing better then him.

Why am I not surprised ?

BTW Ithink Sabans intense practices is making marginal players think of retirement.

If that is the case, then those players just can't handle being a true man on the field. Let them quit then, it won't hurt us any a bit.

Herniated Disk

a radi who???

It's herniated disk in the back. When the soft stuff between the spinal column comes out and presses against a nerve. Had surgery two years ago. It takes forever to recover, and that's if you're lucky.

hmmm...
Gus throwing lame ducks and throwing behind the recievers........

sounds pretty familiar........

9?

I'm kinda worried that each practice has the qb seperated by one or two throws. I hope one of them stands up and takes control of the situation. M.Wright was probably gassed and judging by the size of the gut on him his lower back was unable to hold up under the pressure without being sore.

Because there's so much going on, you can't possibly look at everybody..Whne you finally do, you might of missed a great play by someone. There's no instant replay..

why is there so much difference in the reports by Bedard and other posters here? Case in point, Crowder. Most guys on here said that he's been doing a good job, and being everywhere, while Bedard has said that he's been invisible most of the time.

Because there's so much going on, you can't possibly look at everybody. Plus, add the fact that we don't have a jumbo tron with instant replay, it make it a little difficult. I see everything..Much like Ozzy..Crowder exemplify what a LB is suppose to look like, he fast, big, instinctive, athlectic. He as all the tools to perform for us this year.

I would like to know where he sits, because he has half of his stuff backwards. Feeley is the one who I think is getting more benefit from his Wr's than Ferrotte. I mean check out what he says about the long throw to Chambers. How Chambers had to make a reaching one handed pass. Sounds to me like it was a tad off the mark. Which it was. I've almost put in my reports a couple of times how Feeley has been a little behind on his shorter passes, but I didnt because most of them are not THAT far off.

Ferrotte tends to throw to short or too hard, but not much of the behind stuff. IMO

As for Crowder, he has been great during middle drills, and he surely could be invisible there because most of the players around him are twice his size. When someone makes a hit inside I keep my eye on his helmet if I cant see his number, so when he gets away from the pack I can see who it is.

I'll take the coaches word over mine or his anyday though, and coach said he's been excellent.

ozzy, i would like your thoughts on boston...obviously saban had good things to say about him but i didnt like what bedard had to say...how has boston looked like to you???im also really worried about mckinney...
