Grimes impressed with Jarvis Landry

Damn, why all the hate for Devon Bess? I loved the guy.

There was also a ton of hate for Wes Welker in the slot. I loved him too, well, until he went to the Pats.

Look, all of you Al Davis' out there can complain about Landry's measurables till the cows come home. I'll stick with my tried and true method of watching the guy play football. We don't need track stars and workout warriors. We need FOOTBALL PLAYERS!

Landry is a football player. He has a nose for the ball, an eye for the game, plays with passion, has leadership qualities, and oh yea, he can actually fill his job description by CATCHING the ball, something most of these track stars cant do.

I'll take the football player every day and twice on Sundays. Could we have used a LB? Absolutely. But we STOLE Landry in the draft.

I can't wait to watch him play.

Yup. I don't follow college ball but from the first instant I saw Olivier Vernon it was apparent to me he was football player through and through. Its unfortunate for him that he has some awkward measurables, especially for our defense, but he's still able to make plays. Chad Pennington is the ultimate example of a football player trapped in a pedestrian's body. Zach Thomas too. Can't forget about Brent Grimes either.

Ted Ginn was blessed physically but he wasn't a football player. Is Dion Jordan a football player? And the biggest question mark for me is Ryan Tannehill, he has the physical abilities of almost the perfectly designed QB, but is he a football player at heart? I really can't say at this point. When the game is on the line and we're behind he's certainly flashed some football player like instincts. But on the other hand when the game is on the line and we're slightly ahead or tied he's been a little too lackadaisical for my liking.

Devone was a good WR while a dolphin, his rookie yr he was 3rd among NFL rookies when he had Chad throwing him the ball....Bess problem was his head not his play, Philbin moved him before he blew up....if Landry is as good as Bess receiving the ball and better catching in the red zone and blocking he will be a solid addition to the team, but I do have to agree with the poster who said was he needed.....we are extremely week at LB and have 2 very good slot receivers already on the team, all though both are coming off of injury which could be a problem....

I will wait to see what the kid can do before calling him the next Boldin or Ward...that's a pretty high standard to set for a guy who hasn't practiced in pads yet.....

As an aside, since he's being used for comparison here, upon reading Bess's last few months of tweets, it seems (hopefully) that he's turned the corner and is doing better

The Davone Bess story coming soon! An up close and in depth documentary focused on my life. Blessed day to all!

Thx 4 all the love and continued support! I'm doing well, feeling great and enjoy the close people that means the most! Blessings to u all!

YAC?? Bess was very good after the catch in college, MUCH better than Landry, Bess was also a better route runner, separation neither was great, and neither were great leapers. Landry's game may translate better to the NFL but they are comparable.

YAC?? Here's a clip in case you can't remember Bess in college. Made other college players look silly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfKA4wJsVV0

um...did you watch that clip? lol Because it only showed 2 catches. you are trying to prove your point on YAC with a video of just 2 catches? 1 catch where he runs 30 yds to get maybe 7 or 8 YAC, and the other catch, he gets hit right after the catch, so there was no YAC, might even lost a yard...

From the YouTube highlights of Landry, two words come to mind: elusive and fearless.

How many exactly is it gonna take to convince you of the obvious?? Hard to find many clips of him in college, it was difficult to find cameramen back then quick enough to keep the camera on him...
