Gronk on track to start week 1 according to NFL Live.

Just put Brady on his back, or running for his life and Gronk is a non factor. Destroy Brady, and we win. It is just that simple.

The big idiot still has over 3 months to do something stupid, like stage dive or wrestle alligators to re-injure himself!

That's fair, a few plays matter very little. For me, which I posted after we drafted Jordan, I saw/see him as the anti-dominant TE because of his size, speed, length, athleticism, and now improved strength and experience. I will be overly surprised if he is VG for at least containing the TE problem we have suffered with for years. JMO

Im very skeptical of this because regardless of a lesser offseason a recovered torn labrum wouldn't hinder much his ability to cover very little and if he was so good at it why wouldn't you play him in that role more esp since he was already playing special teams

I would think the stronger the rumors that he will be ready week one, the less likely he will be ready by then

Gronk plays gets pretty much shut down patriots lose in Miami in September. 31-24

Send Gronk tickets to Las Vegas about mid week before the first game...

In other news....it is being reported that Gronk shattered his fibula while tying his shoes this morning...

I'm not one of those fearful of Gronk but he was ready week one last year and Belichick didn't actually let him play for weeks into the season, I remember Gronk and his people being pretty upset about it too.

thats cus they know he will never last an entire season. he is brittle.

so what if he makes it week one? He wont be there week 13 or whenever we play them in NE.

Looking forward to Lazor vs. BB.

No way he is 100% by week one so im fine playing a limping Gronk

Wrong - it was the opposite. The Pats wanted him back, but Gronk was being advised by his people to take his time coming back, and so he did. I still expect the same thing to happen this year, and even if he does play, he will likely get limited reps. He will not be a dominant factor in the game.

He may be available for Sept. 7th but Glasskowski won't be around for the rematch in Dec.

Exactly. If he plays, he will not be 100%, not even close, and they will be risking him getting hurt again for the season.

Dion did do a pretty good job on him last year, but Gronk was not 100% or the Gronk we all fear, if he was, there would have been little Dion or anyone could have done to slow him down, let alone stop him.

Something to consider though, if he does play opening day, he will again not be 100%, again be coming back from serious injury, and while he again risks being lost for the season, Miami should be able to slow him down (Forget on seeling 265 pound Dion being that guy this time though), and make Belichick's decision a dangerous one.

So our guys get to be the ones who bust him up? Good, good...

Rob Gronkowski will be on the field for the first day of New England Patriots training camp on Thursday. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Gronkowski will not start the summer on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list because “he’s been cleared to play.” The All-Pro tight end tore his ACL in Week 14 of the 2013 NFL season in the Patriots’ 27-26 win over the Cleveland Browns.
