Gus connected with Randy Moss!

the fact of the matter is He was brought in ONLY because he knew Linehan's offense and as a back up plan in case Feeley sucked or didnt pick up the new offense soon enough. He wasnt brought in to make WR's look like Randy Moss because he cant do that. IF he was that good he would be the starter in MINNISOTA. Randy made HIM look good...When you have 3 DB's on one man that leaves other people WIDE OPEN...and lets face it....we know Chambers and Booker and McMicheal and Boston are formidable...but they dont scare anyone to the point of putting 3 DB's on them

I do not think I am far off in saying that Chambers has not caught many down the sideline for TD's while burning the CB. What Chambers is awesome at is catching sideline balls with exprertise, running the back of the endzone with precision and pure talent. Catching the ball over the middle and taking the hit and still hanging on to the ball. What CC has not done very well is burn a CB down the sideline with his "awesome speed".

As for David Boston. He has yet to make it through a season and a couple of knee injuries. He has been asked to go five yards and make plays on his feet. If he is so fast, then why arent they sending him long? Maybe we will, but we have not very much at all. So all this talk about how he can go long is yet to be seen. Thats all, its not a dig on our recievers like most of you would like to make it.
You're wrong. He does burn by them. He just doesn't have a ball waiting for him on the other side. Watch the tapes. Ask the players, the opposing ones I mean. Ask the opposing fans. He has that gear, just hasn't been rewarded for it. Like I said before, I stopped counting the number of plays over the past three years where he was WIDE FREAKING OPEN and the ball was poorly thrown. I'm not just talking about one or two occassions. It was every stinking game, we all tend to forget because the play didn't happen the way we wanted. I distinctly remember thinking to myself during the 2002 and 2003 seasons that if we could just complete one of those two to three opportunities that were there for the taking (i.e. Chambers beat his guy deep down the middle by two to three steps) nearly every game, we would have been a much more potent offense. Turner was calling the play, Jay just couldn't deliver. Point is, don't knock CC for the outcome when he did his part.

And by the way, I havent seen chambers outrun anyone this preseason. Ive seen chambers make unbelieveable catches while getting slammed. I also have seen him covered tight alot downfield and no seperation. I have also seen all the recievers not turn around and read the blitz coming in on gus, they are suppose to break off their routes when that is happening. That is when Gus underthrows them.If they would just turn around, the ball would be caught.

You just said it yourself preseason. He plays like half a game and sure he isn't a Moss who every game can get seperation and go long Chambers can only do that once in awhile. Now Boston can do it. he did it in Arizona and he can do it now. Dolphins just have to give him a chance to prove it because he is still a speed demon and even though its his return off the injury if hes our third reciever that means better chance of single coverage let him go long and I doubt corners will catch him.

Why was he able to come in and win the games he covered Culppeper on? Its cus he had a WR who could go downfield and get his long ball. We simply do not have a reciever like that. Boston is trying to make a comeback and Booker is more a possession type and Chambers gets double covered and cant seem to get down the field fast enough. I love our WR's but we simply do not have a fast reciever (welker maybe) who can get downfield to get his long ball. I think that is a large part of the problem.

So what you are saying is that our wide receivers are not good enough to catch a deep ball from GUS! Blasphemy!

Let me get this right. Gus sucks, but he and AJ look about the same

if you were a business owner, and you brought in a guy off the street and a guy who had worked for you for three years previously, what would you do if they both produced the same results for you?

the analogy is far from perfect, but prior to this preseason i pretty much assumed that gus should look a LOT better than AJ in almost every aspect of the game. it hasn't been as cut and dry.
