Gus lets see what you do Sat.

I hear some of you sayin how Frerotte should start after playin 2nd stringers and get lucky breaks. If you tell me he threw the pass to Gilmore behind him on purpose let me quote someone "I'll personally come down to the fiels and slap you". That was pure luck. So if Dt catches that ball A.J was lookin at 5-7 bout 55 yrds. roughly but oh i forgot thats so horrible. Gus when you suck and bang your head against a wall at Altell Stadium I'll be assured that you can't hack it.
why dont you try rooting for all our quarterbacks, are you feeleys dad?

I havent seen Feeley throw one deep ball the only ones that were intermediate were the first play of the game which was a strike to Mcmike and then the 2nd was the DT drop.
i keep hearing feeley is such a gun slinger but am yet to see him sling it downfield?

oh n why do people keep saying that frerotte cant go deep? does ne1 remember in 03 when culpepper was out with a back injury for like 2 games well frerotte came in n was launching that sucker all day n on target even tho it was to moss he still is capable of throwing it deep

You are right. I have a clip of Gus heaving it 65 yards. Yes, from his own 35 yard line to the goal line.

That's why they become pi@#ing matches. Because someone comes out and says Feeley or Frerotte sucked. I came on this site last night with a positive feeling on all 4 QBs and immediately started seeing Feeley sucks threads. Saban is the final evaluator and we'll see who he wants to run his team. Do I think that will stop the whining? No. I have come to the conclusion that no matter what happens the bashing will continue

Same here. Gus performed better, no doubt, but Feely didn't look bad, and I think he might have something. We have alot of games left.

And our 3rd stringers look great for 3rd stringers IMO. I'm on the put brock in NFL Europe see if he develops bandwagon I'ms tarting :)

imo berlin done as good as either one of our qbs cant wait to see him with the first team if he gets the chance i think he will be a great qb with the right teaching he had over 100 yards in the 4th alone so im not just watching aj and gus im looking at berlin  (he may have played with the bears 2nd and 3rd string out there but we had our 2nd and 3rd out there as well:evil:

o yea he did have one int but 4 a rookie that isnt that bad compared to over 100 yards passing

listen here wanny and rick are gone things come in three's aj will get the ax in 2006!we will ride the gus all the way in 2005!!!!!!!go fins!!!!!!!!

I will say this. Both QBs should have a better game next week unless Saban decides to hammer the run game to work out the kinks. I have a feeling that whoever starts against the 2nd stringers throughout the preseason is going to look good. Both can start and both arent going to be top ten QBs as starters. The evaluation of both will have to be based on what Saban wants from a QB. If he wants a gunslinger he'll go with Feeley. If he wants a safe QB who will take the shorter stuff more often he will take Frerotte
I agree with your statement here. After the beating feeley took for us last year I was wanting to see feeley earn the position. But at the end of this preseason I'll support who ever win's the job.

You fail to realize he was playing WITH 2nd string players as well.
What does that mean??

You still can't compare them. They were put in totally different situations with totally diffrent play calling playing with totally different personell. They both did well, neither did better.

While its too early to tell how both of these QB's will do, one thing is undeniable about this whole QB competition--neither one will last through the season unless our o-line improves. The other night I counted numerous passing plays where both QB's had less than 3 seconds to get rid of the ball--Feeley especially. So before we continue this pissing contest about both of these guys let's give credit where credit is due. Houck is getting the big bucks to build this unit and both Frerrotte and Feeley's success will ride on it.

Well, the real focus of concern on our team should be the OL, not the QBs...Both QBs were hampered by multilple blitzing and the lack of ability of the OL to pick them up. The reports by the folks at camp and the media (particularly 790) must have been about some other OL's progress...If this OL plays like it did Saturday, we are in for a looooooong season...hold on to your straps and face it....AJ will look like a board in the pocket and Gus will dink and dunk just to avoid getting plastered too...

I'll say it again...the OL is real source of concern here, not the QBs...
