Gus Says: Lets Have Fun

This is an odd way of looking at it but if Feeley had played better last year, maybe adding 3 more wins to a 4-12 season, we would not have Ronnie Brown on our roster right now. Think about it.

Go Gus, or Sage, or whoever gets the nod. I just want there to be a clear winner at qb. I want to see a large margin between the starter and the 2nd stringer. I am tired of equally soso qb play.

The biggest problem you have with Gus is hes about as moble as a brick wall. I do think Sabin did the right thing by starting the Vet.

He is not a scrambler but he feels the pressure coming and is nimble enough to step out of the rush.We saw that in the first couple of exhibition games.

Gus ought to say lets have fun cause he knows with him having the rock we wont be winning, so might as well have fun while we lose!
Mods, is there any way you could ban this guy. He never says anything the least bit intelligent.

:shakeno:
Ladies and Gentlemen, a quote from the Miami Dolphins #1 fan.....what a joke!
How about supporting your team, no matter who is behind center! As much as I think AJ is not that good as an NFL QB, any fan would support whoever is back there, I know I would.

Man am I slow, I just made the connection...."OREGON"Finfan....he is an AJ HUGGER!

I hope we see some headbanging after the game, just not too hard.

The only thing I have to say, is Gus has butter fingers. Get ready for plenty of fumbles.

If he can hold on to the ball he will do fine. Just like I think Feeley would have done fine.

I wish Frerotte the best and look forward to him taking our team to the playoffs.

The only thing keeping us from that this year, IMO, is the QB. So if he pplays atleast average we should be fine. I think he will.

If they can cut down on the OL errors I think that Gus will do more than an adequate job.He wont be a high pct passer but he also wont throw many pick 6s or make costly errors.
The way he throws the sideline pass, he will average a pick six once every three games

my problem with gus is that he still stands in the pocket like he's playing behind a viking o line that gave him all day to throw. he needs to understand behind this line there needs to be some zip. 1-2-3 ball out or 1-2-3-4-5 ball out. i don't know if gus is capable of playing at the speed needed behind our o line. he might be able to adjust but it will take a few more games.

Exactly. The start of the season could be very brutal for Gus unless the line really steps it up. He may need till after the bye week to get used to how little time he's going to have. What worried me is the fact that it seems we have the deep passing game in place for the Broncos. To throw deep you need extra good protection. With our line we should probably be running slants, quick hitters and dumpoffs with an occasional play action deep pass just to keep the defense honest. It seems Saban and Linehan are putting alot of faith in our line. Hopefully its not wishful thinking

Unh ? What ? Come again ? Loosing ? How you figured that out without even playing a game yet ?

Let us hope that our offense gives us something to cheer about this season unless we won't be having too much fun.

Good luck Gus, it's time to put the QB controversy aside and root for whoever is taking the snaps.
