Gus supporter admitting AJ looked good

another gusketeer that doesn't realize that starting gus doens't do anything for our future qb situation.

another gusketeer that wont admit that gus stunk and aj deserves a chance to be with the first team.

another gusketeer with the same old comment gus 1st stringers and aj not.

please open your eyes and realize that gus hasn't done well given his chance while AJ is improving.

i say give AJ a shot to start next week.

AJ has more upside than gus fielder.

starting gus would do what? absoultely nothing cause we would still have a qb problem.

let AJ start and see if he has the right stuff to be a NFL quarterback.
*sighs* i'm an aj supporter but i am looking at it realistically..aj had a good game but it was against 3 stringers..as you said, "open your eyes"

Yup you all make a goodpoint with that, but at the same time Gus was playing against the starters and AJ was not.

Like I said I like our QB situation.

OHALL..please..please do this for me...show me where AJ did not play good against the starters...he only had 7 attempts against them!!!!

But it bears pointing out, once again, that going with Aj's last few starts last year he didn't show the inablity of Frerotte, and he was going against teams like the Patriots. I'm not saying he's a pro bowler, But I still allow that he can do much better than Frerotte is doing, and will likely get better.

exactly the point. gus has to prove he could be a better qb than aj was at the end of last season when he went 3-3. From what Ive seen of Gus this preseason Im not sure he could get us to 4-12. Now I, unlike some others here, dont even remember the guy playing in Minny, my only recollections are from his Washington days when I thought he stunk even though career-wise that was his apex. So if he looked like the real deal in Minny I wouldnt be the guy that could argue that but from what I have seen of the guy actually playing he is definitively a worse qb than feeley

Gus did play darn well in Minny, and it baffles me how he is making such poor decisions and poor throws, being a veteran and such.

And I'm sorry... Boston was WIDE open... The pass to Chambers, out of bounds... I just don't like Gus at the helm. Give AJ the keys... That first drive was great, but then... Just don't feel good about Gus taking us into the season... Give it back to AJ.

gus went against 1st stringers, aj did not..you cant compare the 2

Yes you can. Who was AJ playing with?

yeah. I cant say he did or didnt. Minny really wasnt a team i paid attention too until last year. The problem I remember him having in Washington was accuracy. He would go through these funks when he would go 0-5 but it wasnt that he went 0 for 5 it was that he had wide open receivers that he couldnt hit. Then he would come back and complete 5 of 6. He was young back then so I think alot of people thought he could improve on that accuracy but he didnt do it in Cincy. I will say this, I've been ripping Gus constantly on this site. It hasnt been because I really think he sucks as bad as he's playing but because I've taken alot of crap for defending Feeley. Gus is better than he has shown. I just dont think that the best of Gus is better than the best of Feeley

I don't see the point in rushing AJ to start. I liked what Gus did in the 1st QTR and I liked what AJ did when he got in there.

I'm not as down as some of you are with the QB situation. I like it, and I think we have two solid QB's. I'm not complaining either way.

IMO the deciding factor will be what the players think. Their trust for whichever QB will win out.

Sounds almost like you think they should vote? Don't think Saban is much into democracy. Much more of a Nicktator. I think (my opinion) the decision will be his, with input from his Assistant Coaches. I don't think (my opinion) they will consider who the other players want.

hah. aj finally throws a pass over 10 yards. i think he's getting too much credit. aj is one of the most most scared qbs i've seen in a long time. talk about timid, lately he looks to his primary target and if they're covered, it's a dump off pass in the flat.

But wouldn't you think a QB who's been in this O for a long as Gus would outdistance one who's learning and less experienced NFL wise. I say AJ has up side..sure he'll struggle a little this year, but next year, he will be a force. As players always say it's the 2nd year when thing really click and they understand.

i could bet money that neither qb stays on the team as the starter next season.
