no way should ricky be on this list.
Wanny #1 and Ricky #1a!
no way should ricky be on this list.
Pathetic List.
Sammy Smith can't be on that list.
He played great in a playoff game which led to a win (KC).
he then played great in a Div. Playoff loss to Buffalo.
A guy that had two very good playoff performances...CANNOT be on this list.
The list is not well thought out at all.
Please tell me this is some kind of joke?
The number 9 pick in the draft is expected to be an impact player right? And a Rb pick in that slot should be expected to reach 1000 yards right? Not once in either catagory.
And those great playoff games consist of 99 yds with no Td's in a loss to Barfalo, and a whopping 82 yds with no Td's in a win against KC.
His fame, is and will always be, for fumbling the ball on a more consistant basis than he ever gained 4 yards in a single carry.
He was a huge bust, and he sure does belong on that list.

Edit: I just realized 6 of my 10 are defensive backs. Jeebus H. Christ, have we had some terrible DBs over the years or what? If it weren't for Madison and Surtain, Jake Scott, and maybe Louis Oliver, I'd be wondering if we'd ever had a decent DB. Oh, and Troy Vincent... too bad we didn't keep him.![]()
Define "played great"
I've seen you defend this guy before and it amazes me.
A number 9 overall pick that was expected to be a franchise back has 2 enigma performances and that makes a career? Again, the man was 9th overall, expected to be our franchise back to compliment Marino and should have put up regular performances like the couple you mentioned above.
He was one of our biggest draft busts ever without question.
Neither playoff performance was earthshattering as you are trying to imply (not like Lamar Smith's 2000 game against the Colts), and I don't see why someone having a few good playoff games in a season that ended early means they "can't be on the list". Look at the dudes career...he belongs here.
What a nonsense post. You didn't even expand on your problems with the list outside of Sammie Smith. Better luck next time (and I didn't even make the damn list)
No need to expand when the list has no credibility.
You needed to watch those games to appreciate how well he played.
In the KC game..Smith had some very important 3rd and 4th down conversions where he was hit in the backfield and carried tacklers for 1st downs.
In the Buffalo game...he had 92 yards at halftime...he carried it 2 times in the second half because we were down by a couple of TD's and it became Marino time.
The guy sucked..he just didn't suck enough to be that high on that list.
I can tell that you didn't see those games.
He may belong on the list...but nowhere near that high.
What gave you the idea that I did not watch those games?
The part where I knew the scores?![]()
Please don't tell me he was the reason they won, or came close to winning either of those games.
For example: The Bills scored 27 points before halftime, and Marino did throw two picks but he brought them back to tie the game (I'm pretty sure it was at the begining of the fourth quarter) by throwing a bomb (70 yds) to Mark Duper I believe.
