Haha we r pathetic

God I hope not. AJ played poorly other than that last pass. (And that only worked b/c he didn't have to read and make any adjustments) He was dinking and dunking for maybe 5 yards per pass. The only difference between that game and his others (other than the victory) is that the ints that were caught in other games were dropped in this one.

Im going to have to disagree to an extent. The line played poorly much like most of the '04 games) and AJ played within his ability like a veteran QB. Even though the New England pass rush was all over him all night (4 sacks and rushed frequently), he still had the poise to pull through in the 4th qtr. I will agree he had some ill-advised thrown that very well could have been picked, but what QB doesnt when one of the best pass rushing teams in the leagues is in your face all night. The point is he lead our team to victory against the best team in the NFL, with an efficient 87.6 QB rating.

I take nothing away from you guys on that win. You won fair and square, and in a season where highlights were few and far between, why not be proud of it?

All the teams in our division seem to spoil a lot for the other teams. It's the little things that count, like that. Of course, when used in a trash talking sense, it is absurdly stupid and petty.
ironically, the wisest words of the thread come from the rival.

i agree 100% dirtywater.... in a season with virtually no highlights, that monday night game was the best thing of the year for us. Thanks for letting us enjoy it! and you miami guys.... quit crying and enjoy it!

What else is there to talk about? Let's mention Dan Marino's fake spike or the '72 season...
We haven't done anything good recently, the monday night game was the last big thing we accomplished. That's obviously not good enough for you. If you don't want to talk about the latest good thing we did, then don't talk at all.

No, I'll tell you what is pathetic. All of the fans that got up and left before it was over is PATHETIC. The fact that a so-called "fan" can't give the Phins credit for winning that Monday night game is PATHETIC. Also, the nerve of "fans" blasting the Phins for ONE 4-12 season is PATHETIC (given the fact that it is, I believe, one of only a couple of losing seasons in two friggin decades).

The bottom line......you are pathetic.....I'm still a proud Phins fan.

AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!!!

and think about it our ol was just starting to gel along with feeley how many ints did he throw in the 2nd half of the season??huh ? huh? it wasnt his fault he didnt have a running game and ol but he still was coming back strong in the 2nd half of the season and IMO he will be a good QB now that we have a running game and the ol will be alot better  so until he has time to throw the ball and look down feild to hit our wrs or te instead of dropping back than there in his face :shakeno: IMO aj will show alot of people wrong this year  and no im not and aj hommer:shakeno:

i think Dirtywater is the only normal non phinfan the rest are like homers and biased

Jim Bates was the headcoach and i felt good for him :) . We shouldnt be bragging about the win, but mentioning it occasionally is always nice.

Why do we always talk about the monday night game. About a week or so after I kpet on talking about it but not now. We were 4-12 and the Pats won the superbowl, why in the hell would they care when we talk about it.

We should be ashamed w/ a 4-12 record that we r even talkign abotu a game last year.

You just answered your own question. We, a 4-12 team beat the Super Bowl winning Patriots. We brought it every game. Every damn game, but Jay and A.J. would throw those damn INTs for TDs at the end of the game. But this one -- we weren't letting it get away and it was our season in a mirror.

And your point is ???
Seems that way eh?

December 2nd, 1985
Miami 38
Chicago 24

Bears: 18-1
that was a very important win:), and when you beat a team who lost one game that whole year before you played them and they lost ot one of the bes teams and you win that game its a little bit of a cofidance booster saying hey this is what this team could do next year and it makes you think positive

It is certainly time to let go of that one good game we had last year. We should remember that those guys are all pretty much still here, and that they achieved MUCH more after Dave quit than they had before. Minus Dave last year they might have achieved a slightly better record. Bates might have gone 8-8 with that team. Still nothing spectacular, but much better than .250 :fire:

On the TD to Thompson, I'am sure AJ's eyes light up when he saw that Troy Brown had him. Give AJ credit for seeing that.

That game was a wake up call for the Pats and probably propelled them to winning the SB.

Why not talk about the biggest highlight from a dismal season? It was something to hang our hats on...

If you don't want to talk about it anymore then fine, but don't try and ruin it for everyone else. It's real simple...just don't get involved in the conversations anymore. :shakeno:
