Hanging of onto False Hopes in Pittsburgh....?

Come on people.

The only game we haven't had a chance to win in this season was at New Orleans. This team has had a legitimate chance in every other game. Go through every loss other than the Saints and we've had a real shot at winning and either blown it or had it taken away. Pittsburgh aren't a team that are going to blow us away so I'm guessing this is another game we have a real chance at winning. Here's another thing as well. Confidence is a funny thing. It can make mediocrity look good. It can make good look great and it can make great look damn near unstoppable. We beat the Steelers going into a home game with the Pats followed by two very, very beatable teams and we'll be in a good spot. I've posted on another thread though: it all starts here. Beating the Jets was easy. Win at the Steelers and we should feel good. Our season is all on this game IMO. Forget the past, win now. The Play Offs this season would be a great achievement with all the rubbish this team has faced this season. Team needs support right now. Not bashing.

The only thing about this years team is its lack of finishing ability. Not getting timely stops on D. Not converting 3rd downs on O. Tanny sailing balls over open receivers. These are, things that happen WHEN Miami lost games. 7 Times.
On the other hand, the 6 wins had us making big plays and finishing on both sides of the ball. Which team we gets is primarily the coaches responsibility. Along with smarter play calling. I wouldn't bet against Miami or even put down $10 for them to win. They're on the come, BUT not solid yet. When you stop and think its really what sensible fans predicted coming in..an 8 or 9 win season. Any more is a gift. But I'm in. Let's see what we have.

We should beat the Bills and Jets. That leaves the Pats at home and the Steelers in Pitt, we have to win one of the two. Most likely is to beat Pitt, but if we lose to them and win out there is still a chance, we have the tiebreaker against SD, Cincy, Indy...and Pitt has a couple of tough games, including the Pats. But we have to win 3 of 4, if we do that....we should be in because I don't see the Steelers going better than 2-2 the rest of the way. I think we would have an outside shot at beating Cincy or Indy in the first round, unfortunately....barring injury to QB's I don't see us beating NE or Denver on the road. But if you had told me a playoff game and maybe a second playoff game when this season started, I would've said I was happy with that.

So be happy Fin fans if that plays out. It means we are a whole step closer to competing with the big 2(Denver/NE)

And Brady/Manning can't play forever.

I'm hoping for a win of course but how many times in the past has this team let us down?.....how many times have we beaten a team one week to giveus hope just to lay an egg the next week? It's good to be positive but we also need to be realistic. This is the type of game tat in the pastwe always lose Will it be different this time? Time will tell bt don't go crazy on the OP cause you should be ale to see where he's coming from. This is the type of game we need to win to show that we belong. Some people are acting as if the game should not be played at all cuse we're so much better than them. Talk is cheap. Lets see what the team does out on the field.

Ozzy rules!!

just want to reiterate that there center position is so weak.

Was surprised to see DEcastro is already questionable, which means he got banged up pretty seriously IMO somewhere.

The back up RT is practicing at LT.

Saying Bell can maybe play. I kind of doubt it if he had a real concussion and they are just playing the lie game. We shall see. I think they are much more banged up on OL. Speed package all day. Harrass the rapist.

I think you should just keep hanging on to the hope that Tannehill gets hurt so Moore or Devlin can play.

Let the fans that care do the worrying about playoff implications.

Did you just wish for our starting QB to get hurt? and....someone actually gave you a thumbs up for this?

I'm a huge Tannehill supporter, I would never wish for anyone to ever get injured.

you misinterpreted what I said.

The offensive line is playing better than I thought, and I see some important improvements in Tannehill's performance. My only concerns are related to Tannehill and cold weather. I just cannot predict anything because of this uncertainty.

last weeks game against the jets was a must win and they have a better defense than the steelers. plus they are plauged with injuries. they are 31st in the run defesne. run the ball, convert on downs and control the clock

JDAM ! The key to beating the Sti'lers is doing exactly what they did against the Jests; time of possession. Keep their O on the sidelines and Ben can't beat the D with deep-ball bomb on a busted play. Also IMHO their O-line might be even worse than the Phins.

The desperation factor

Pitt is more desperate, backed into the corner, do or die and that seems to be the team that wins in these situations. They are having a lot of problems so maybe that will give us the edge we need to win it. Next week we will be desperate, backed into the corner, do or die and we pull one out against a clinched pats team with nothing to play for

Seems the OP is more concerned about being right about Miami not making the playoffs than seeing the team do well. Who cares about season predictions, seems like you are putting yourself in a win win situation. Miami goes to the playoffs, we all win. Miami doesn't you will push the topic on how you called it and you were right all along.

Well Guys,

I watched the Jets game and was puzzled as much as many of you were, bewildered and perplexed.

I felt the Jets had a pretty decent defense, but was our defense that good, or were the Jets QB's bad?

We should have won 50-3, and we missed several open wide receivers in the game.

So here we go again, hanging onto that false hope, hoping other teams lose and somehow we win, 4 straight.

If we can beat Pittsburgh, we have a sliver of a chance, if we lose, its all over and hopefully we can focus on the draft and issues that need to be addressed in the offseason.

and this didn't had place in the game thread, you needed to open an extra thread for this bull**** ?

The Pittsburgh game is a playoff game (for them), so they will be doing their best. It's sad that the game is so big. I have not seen many people that believe Miami will make the playoffs if they lose. Me included. That is sad because not many people believe we can handle our own division, because those are the last three games. I think Miami can beat Pitts however and I think they can make the playoffs. I also think they would be the worst team in the playoffs, but I will cheer for this young team to get some playoff experience.

no chance against cincy or indy huh?

I hope I am wrong.

We were picked to challenge the Patriots, we have the talent, we're just under achieving. This doesn't make me a bad fan.
