I hope to god that they show the conversation, one that has to be akward as hell, that Garrard had to have had with the coaches or GM about his choice to have knee surgery the day of the first preseason game.
I bet Garrard was disappointed to learn Hard Knocks would be there this year. Im sure he didnt want to have to pull his scam on TV.
Seriously, can you imagine. Heres a guy supposedly competing for a starting QB job in the NFL, THE NFL, who has to tell his coach and/or GM that he is about to have minor knee surgery for some basic wear and tear to do a clean up in there on either the day before or the day of the first preseason game. I cant wait to see the look on Philbin's face. It will be something like "Are you ****ing kidding me?"
Seriously, this is worse than Vontae asking coach if he can go take a piss during a 75 minute practice. "Can you not hold it for that long?" Coach was obviously thinking how bad does this guy really want to be here? Im sure he was thinking the same thing when Garrard drops this bomb on him.
Were talking about a very minor thing that Im sure tons of QBs just play through. Hell, guys who have a starting job locked down will wait till seasons end to do some **** like that. But, this guy is supposed to be competing for the job and essentially takes himself out of contention. Dudes real hungry to get back into the NFL huh. GET REAL.
All that whining he did last season about a team "committing" to him. No one offered him guarenteed money so he passed on a job. Then decides to have back surgery. Its obvious now that he wouldve taken that signing bonus last year and then had back surgery. Same thing he just did to us. Unreal.
