Hard to think Bills won't be better than Miami in 2014

The Jets have enough talent on defense that I could honestly see them turning that team around if they manage to swing a deal for a guy like Jay Cutler or something.

I'm not a Cutler fan but he'd improve that team dramatically overnight. I feel the same way about the Bills, and that's why I'm glad that they both took QBs who look to me like they won't pan out. Treading water.

The Bills will give Manuel 2-3 years at the minimum. Smith was so bad for the Jets that they will almost certainly replace him this offseason, especially since it is likely he will have a new coach in town. I think Cutler will hit the open market if the Bears don't make the playoffs in a win and you're in game. He's given them no reason to do otherwise, and I'd expect them to re-sign McCown while drafting for the future if Cutler fails next week.

Cutler could take the Jets to a very exciting 8-9 win season next year, much the same way that Favre did. They both lose nearly as many games as they win by themselves.

Which doesn't say much as inconsistent as Miami has been.

Their defense has completely owned our offense in two of those games, and in the other that they won they did so because of key defensive plays that bookended our offensive production. I think it's less to do with consistency than simply being a bad matchup for us at this point, their strengths correlate strongly to our weaknesses and in that respect they are a harder fight than the Pats.

You^ are making it sound like we are a 12-13 win team who just happens to match up poorly with Buffalo... truth is we are, and have been, mediocre for a long time. Mediocre teams lose to other mediocre teams quite frequently.
