Hayden Fox's Preseason Week Two Assessment

How there was no flag is mind boggling on the replay from endzone angle his left hand was grabbing Wallace collar just prior to the yellow box being added.

Yes, ****ing ridiculous that they miss this one and call one on Davis when all he did was make a perfect play. This **** needs to be reviewed if these idiot moron refs can't be consistent. I'll be so pissed if that **** happens against NE...again.

Tannehill's throw was flawless, right on target.

If the throw was flawless, Wallace was on the wrong path. Tannehill's deep balls are rarely on the right track. If Wallace doesn't have to adjust to the outside, he might overcome the PI on that play. On the play, you can clearly see that Wallace has the CB beat to the inside, and you can also see that the S is a non-factor, because Wallace is also behind him. Tannehill missed that pass - made Wallace adjust to the outside, allowed the DB to interrupt the pattern. It should have been a PI, but that is NOT a flawless throw.

The team should try Shelley Smith or Billy Turner at RG. Turner might be green and it would give the team a rookie right side of the line. However, Turner has a much higher upside than Thomas and does nice work in the run game. I am convinced that Turner will get better as the year goes. I do not have that same feeling with Thomas...in fact, I think Thomas gets exposed even more as he gets on film. Maybe Smith is a "happy medium". Whatever the case, Thomas needs to go to the bench starting Monday.
* I am not convinced Colledge is the best option at LG. He is a better pass blocker than Smith. However, Smith is the better run blocker.

this is why TURNER needs to be on the LEFT SIDE where he has played the most and excelled [plus its more vital having the better pass protector on the left] and SHELLY [who i dont think will be much of an improvement] should be on the RIGHT side!!

good write up, but, again, like last week, i do NOT want my star players, important starters playing pre season games like they are in the superbowl, all so i can see td's and giggle myself silly all through the next week. read almost any book on any former nfl player and they all said, in pre season, guys dont go all out, dont make that extra effort most of the time because it means NOTHING, they are proven and most are not in danger of a roster spot.

and the INJURY concern!! guys want to play all season. none of us want to be out before it even gets started [i think that was nate newton].

this stuff everyone is boo-hooing about, outside of dallas thomas, is just this. pre season!! "its a glorified walk through" no sell out body and soul for virtually nothing!!

ONE MORE THING......, dallas thomas IS a rookie. he barely showed last year and never played. thats a ROOKIE, not a seasoned vet or even a promising youngster. so any thomas is the vet and they dont want a rookie next to another rookie is EXACTLY what they have now with james and thomas.

its time to give TURNER his game reps. turner has ALWAYS been a game day guy and not a practice field wonder. GIVE ME SOME TURNER DAMN IT!!!!

Always something to bitch about. Maybe "flawless" was giving a tad too much credit, but it was far from a bad throw. He put it in a spot that outside the contact, it would have all been up to the receiver to come down with it, especially when said receiver is being paid the 3rd most lucrative contract in the NFL.

Real #1s make that catch, interference aside.

I haven't had my monster yet lol. Hartline had his share of drops too! I give Wallace a pass because he finds the endzone. He also draws double coverage and occupies the safety which lets our offense do a lot more.
17 million to occupy a safety. That's a sound investment.

Perhaps Wallace is on the wrong path. I don't think that is at all beyond the realm of possibility. Regardless, that's an adjustment that he should be able to make.

Lets be real here! The defender was beat and did what defenders are suppose to do when beat on a deep ball INTERFERE. It broke Wallace's stride and took any chance of a adjustment or play on the ball away. You and many others are just using it as an excuse to exercise your hardons for Wallace. It is his first preseason game coming off a injury that has had his reps limited. Let's at least wait till the bye week before you get your pitch fork!

Watching our LB's and watching some of the Pittsburgh vs Buffalo game, it's not hard to believe that we would have preferred Shazier to James. What a monster. In his first NFL action, 9 tackles on D, 1 INT, and 2 tackles on kick coverage. No use crying over spilled milk, but he'd change the entire complexion of our D. Still, we should be giving harder looks to McCain and Tripp. I know they're gradually getting closer to 1st team action - with Tripp practicing some with the 1's - but each needs to have series with the starting D in the 3rd preseason game.

I saw Shazier last night. It made me angry.

It's not your money and we aren't in cap hell! We have a lot more waste like Wheeler and Elderbe to worry about that will cost this team more then just money as the season goes on!

Way to jump to conclusions...quote me on all that "pitch fork" type bull****. Hardon for Wallace...? :bobdole: I simply said the ball was thrown well, and without contact he should've/would've came down with the ball. Talk about misinterpretation on your part.

Forget the deep ball. How the hell does he drop a bubble screen that hits him in the hands? Save the comparisons to other players and answer that question.

I still think Mike Wallace can justify his contract, it's just that he had these same issues in Pittsburgh in 2012 and I honestly wonder if the guy is just on cruise control now. It's really disappointing.

Broke his window terrible play on his fault he was looking to run before the ball got there! Could just be rusty you know first game speed snaps and all? I mean how does Hartline drop that first down? Hit him between 8&2?
