Henne can't

Hennes best game as a pro was 2 years ago against Jacksonville. He was poised in the pocket, made all the throws, made all the reads, and spent a lot of the game in the shotgun. It have never been that Henne can't do it! It has been that Henne hasn't done it consistently!

Are you really trying to claim that about a game where Henne didn't put the ball in the end zone once, only scored 14 points, and where Henne took a game whose outcome wasn't really in doubt and made it that way when he threw a costly interception that let Jacksonville back in the game, was his best game as a pro?

That game is everything that has ever been wrong with Henne. Even when he seemingly brings his best game and makes "all the throws" most of the game, he takes 220 passing yards and a 140 yard rushing effort but can't put more than 14 points on the board (contributing none of the scores himself) and nearly loses the game for his entire offense by throwing a pick.

Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me one of the champions of "Henne can't read zone" and so on is admitting he actually *can*?

So all the good things he did prove nothing, but the bad things do count?

Yeah, that's balanced.

You still out to prove the tape wrong that Hennes biggest struggles are against zones/umbrella? Christ man give it up you look foolish! Let me help you out. If Henne didn't do half the **** you guys claim he doesn't or half the **** hayers bash him for we wouldn't have this debate!

What do you want people to say? Great a fourth year NFL qb played a decent game in preseason! There you feel better?

And two bad passes do not wipe out an entire half of good football.

haha, go ahead and get all excited if you want. I've been watching this stuff too long to let a game like this change my opinion.

Get back to me when Henne strings together several good performances against much better teams than the NFL'S WORST.

Henne has some nice talent around him...I love Bess.

But he displayed the same tendencies that will make his play inconsistent over the long haul....staring down receivers, locking in on his primary read, looking "mildly" comfortable in the pocket. I realized tonight mostly that Henne doesn't make quarterbacking look like an art. The great ones made the ball dance all over the field.

It kills you Henne had a good night doesn't it? Go find a WV (or what ever the hell his name is now) thread worshiping Matt Ryan and bashing everything we do to go and thank.

It kills a lot of us that Henne had a night that can be misconstrued as being a lot better than it really was, because now we'll have to deal with Henne fans being insufferable.

Oh, and Matt Moore has again thrown nicer passes than Henne has thrown, he's just playing with backups who don't know what they are doing and who are gonna to get cut because they don't catch passes they should.

Yep I sure am! Here is why his pocket pressence was out standing, he was going through progressions, he was making good throws on tough routes. I watched that and said "ok he is getting it, this is development." Interceptioms are going to happen and I will say it again. For us to make the next step Henne needs to eliminate his wtf moments that even make his momma scratch her head. The plays that look like he literally threw with his eyes closed.

Henne looked comfortable in the pocket

Probably the most encouraging aspect of his start tonight. Unlike all the Henne lovers, I'm not exceptionally impressed by too much of what he did except for that nice pass to Fasano and a couple early short throws that were in stride, but the only thing he has really proven he could do tonight that he couldn't do before was play confidently and comfortably in the pocket.

Maybe somebody gave him a copy of "Get Confident, Stupid."

Get a clue dude, this was not a puff the chest thread. Read it and get a dictionary if you can't understand words with more than 4 letters. I mentioned 4 things supposed fans like you mentioned that he couldn't do. People tried to explain that Henning just wasn't calling the plays because he sucks as an OC, and clowns like you would say well if Henne could do it, it would have been called, which is complete BS.

Got to take it personal huh? You realize your bragging about a half of play against the NFL'S WORST TEAM, if anybody needs a clue it is you. I was watching this team win Superbowls when you were glued to your momma's chest.

but your wrong, I hope Henne does turn it around, I just realize it takes alot more than this to prove it, especially after two years of what we saw from him.

Ya, we are all sure you are pulling for Henne. Congrats on being 8 years older. That has about as much substance as the majority of your posts.

Really? Your going to puff your chest about this performance against the worst team in the league?

Get some perspective dude, it was nice too see Henne play decent for a half, but it will take consistency and good play against much better opponents than tonights to prove anything.

On the negative side he nearly threw a PIC 6, a good corner would have done it.
Exactly. Henne had a good preseason game. Hope he can build off this, but it's preseason. He looked decent, not great. The star tonight was Reggie Bush.

Typical post by a team member of the Basher Circle Jerk club. We have one preseason game where our 3 best offensive players don't play, he has an INT batted up in the air and a wrong pattern ran that contributed to another (2nd was still on him) and you guys sworm in like vultures. He has a good game, and all the BS starts coming out.

Also please stop comparing QB's against first and 3rd team defenses. It only points out your bias that much more.

I forgot, Matt Moore's deep ball that hit a receiver 40 yards downfield in stride doesn't count because it was against a second string defense. Nevermind that Henne tried several passes like that, once with the receiver completely wide open, and didn't come within 5 yards of his man.

I still didn't see anything to get excited about. He only looked OK. He missed several wide open guys and there were quite a few balls they were so wobbly and poorly thrown, it looked like a kid threw them.

At least he did not make any bone head plays. That is a plus.
