Henne Moore & Delvin for QB? We're Not Gonna "Settle" With That...Are We?

Brian Daboll has to feel like the luckiest offensive coach on the planet... he'll have had both of 'em by the time he's back coaching tight ends at Northeast Fitchburg State...

Hey Dr. Slimm. How do you see your boy Julio Jones doing in his first season in the NFL? I know his success will depend heavily on how well Atlanta's LT plays, but all things considered do you think he might be ok? I mean we know Atlanta's LT is only average. I dont know what they have a QB, but that dosent really matter. If Jones dosent do so well, maybe we can trade for him. Id bet he could put up huge numbers with Jake Long playing LT which of course is the key to the QB getting the WR the ball.

Why is it so hard for you to understand without a elite LT providing protection your QB won't get the time to survey the field and throw deep to Jones?

Of course we're not settling for Henne, Moore and Devlin.

We've also got Brandstater.

The four horsemen of the suckforluckalypse.

Well, when you consider that Tony Sparano was absolutely ripped off by Mike Smith for that Coach of the Year Award a few years back, it's astonishing to think that Atlanta's front office would even be willing to mortgage that many picks for Julio Jones, when their head coach is hanging on by a thread...

Although I do think Julio is going to take quite a bit of pressure off Atlanta's left tackle once he gets familiar with the system and gets his feet under him a little bit...

The only thing I really see holding Julio back is Atlanta really hasn't addressed the left tackle position in order to get him the football...

How could I forget about Brandstater? Can you get me some tape on him? Gonna be key on breaking down how he hits the waiver wire.

"suckforluckalypse" ... Triple Word Value.

Would look good on a customized jersey, along with # 7-9

Man that coach of the year trophy would have looked sweet in our trophy case right next to our 2008 AFC East Championship trophy!

So true. I cant believe their FO keeps settling for bargain basement and mediocre players at LT. When do you think they are going to get around to drafting a franchise LT? I mean thats really all thats holding them back from a SB run. Maybe by going with a franchise QB for now they are going to try and be mediocre for a while until they can make a big move to go up and get a LT in the draft. Baffling though that they traded away all those picks this year. They needed to stockpile those if they are going to make the big move to get a LT.

we are a luaghing stock . . my jets fan freind texted me and was not even being a jerk we were just talking about stuff . . he said sucks that Namdi slipped away etc and said he thinks bush is a good pick up with our new offense and then he goes . . "why in the hell did u guys sign moore?" and he was really asking me like i might know . . . he wasnt being facetious . . . i mean if we really think we are going to go into the season in the AFC east, while having also the NFC east on our schedule and actually compete with this QB corps. and they are cool with it, i have to seriously seriously wonder what in the world ireland and ross are doing. i cannot attribute that simply to poor football thinking - it is too blatant. sparano honestly did not sound that thrilled today in his presser about henne - kinda was upfront that he wants vet competition and that he needs henne to show him some specific things - so much for "misinformation" these guys really have been dissappointed since last year im sure. so not upgrading makes 0 sense.

Getting moore i think was just showing denver and orton for that matter
that we are calling the bluff though deep down
we are hoping Orton will be cut or agrees in principle.

Though if moore really is the plan b then this season will be like the others

That's basically how I see it... they started off by going the safe route and acquiring a franchise quarterback... Did a little bit of bargain shopping by getting guys like Tony Gonzalez, Turner, etc..

Now they're just stockpiling explosive talent at the skill positions in order to tread water for a little while until they can land that Hall of Fame left tackle....

They better hurry up though... Arthur Blank is subject to run out of patience soon and wash his hands of Thomas Dimitroff and company in favor of Bill Parcells...
