Herald reporting leaked logo confirmed

Sorry

If true, then Armando should apologize for tweeting at the exact moment it could be misinterpreted. And I'm not a Dee hater, but the denial of the earlier one will never hold water for me.

I respect your decision to have a problem with Dee in regards to his denial with the December rough draft. I personally wouldn't consider it a lie since it really is different than the final logo we just got. Obviously the shape is very close, but the sun, colors, lack of eye among other things make it different.

The notion by others that Dee denied the latest logo as being real is where I decided to speak up about and try and get to the facts. Calling someone a liar is a pretty strong accusation and I would expect guys like Digital and Doogie to some actual facts and proof to back themselves up.

Different colors, different sun, no eye, etc. It wasn't 1000% different, but it was different enough that it can't be considered the "final" logo. It is what it is, a rough draft.

Dee should have just said they weren't going to comment on any leaks as the design was an ongoing process..

it is what it is. it is dee being an arrogant politician. when the original design was leaked the opinion of it was negative and he denied it. when this one was leaked the overwhelming opinion is negative and he denies it. shove it down their throats they have not other choice. a smarter organization probably would have listened 3 months ago when no one liked this one.

I am especially shocked about ross being silent about it. This is supposed to be his big moment of this is my team and EVERYONE is tearing the logo apart.

i dare anyone to find anything on this logo on the web or print media that is positive.

I disagree with the premise that the reaction is overwhelmingly negative...sure they are the most vocal, but I see plenty of people who like it.

I'm more concerned about the uniform redesign, if the rumors are true there isn't going to be much orange outside of the sunburst...

I posted several times during the original leaked logo stating that the final logo would be very similar with just slight changes. My source? Several members of the website sportslogos.com. Granted I was going out on a limb trusting a few random individuals but nonetheless I posted the link multiple times.

I just don't understand why people care so much. The logo IMO is a huge upgrade and something that should have began growing on everyone of us since December. Instead, many people put false hope in that awful AFl fan creation that has been posted a million times. No NFl team or professional graphic designer would ever create a logo like that for a NFL team. Ever.

Be pissed, bitch and moan, do whatever you would like. This offseason Miami made a lot of moves to better this franchise. Again, they got a player I've been lobbying for since the beginning of time and he will be a difference maker. We got two lbs both of which are better than the two we let go. Just relax. It's a logo and will probably look even better on a jersey. If not, well then its 1997 all over again. Certainly this time the logo will be easier to have grown on you. The current logo is a joke and sums up the entire franchise in the last 16 years.

As the great Owen Hart once said, "Enough is enough and its time for a change."

white facemasks??? Really? That pisses me off more than the logo. Going to look like a World League of American Football team.....

I've gone from being meh to thinking the logo looks great. The logo clearly needed an update, and we kept aspects of the original and made it more sleek by removing the dolphin's arch. I really appreciate the team keeping the all white unis and now changing the face mask too. Whoever mentioned earlier we are going against the grain of the rest of the NFL had it right, and I'm proud of what they're doing.

The logo that was "leaked" that has been confirmed as real, came out on March 19th. That press conference you linked to came out on March 18th, one day before. Again, where did Mike Dee lie?

That logo is substantially similar to the previously leaked version. It would violate trademark law to commercially call them different. In a court of law Dee's comment would be considered knowingly untrue and purposefully misleading.

In layman's terms, they're the same logo as the one released months ago and he lied. I don't know what else to tell ya man. I provided the video of him saying it at the same table as the owner and GM specifically to the NFL media.

not sure where you got that info. if one minor thing is changed on a picture/logo, it is no longer trademark. i can add a small blue line on the dolphin, and call it my own...

No. It depends on what restrictions and level of trademark properties the Dolphins have applied for and received. Chances are, they are the "top dollar" level which would cover anything even remotely resembling their trade dress.

AND THE DOLPHINS could and would sue and win because your logo was too close to theres that it "confused" consumers. Face it companies sue all the time for less than that "eye".

There is a case going right now that says games workshop owns the rights to the words space marine. They also seem to think that they own the rights to any people that look like they are wearing futuristic armor with big shoulderplates. Infact they sued a company that made shoulderplates of similar design with markings that GW didnt make because they said people may have thought they were buying a GW product.

so please stop with the excuse making. Dee lied and is currently playing politician.
