I concur....for other teams that sort of play happens once or twice a game. For us it's about once a year.

How come there's no threads talking about this bite your finger nails off on every attempt kicker we have...that 53 yarder was 30 yards wide left half way there...what an awful damn kick

I'm not sure what the point of this is. No one said Tannehill was the only player on the field. The offense lost the game for us, as a whole unit. But the QB is in charge. I don't quite get it...those "incomplete passes" or passes short of the 3rd down marker are not his responsibility? Scoring once you get in the red zone (and that problem started in the first half, not the second), is not his responsibility?

We should have kept Carpenter.
If we simply made that kick, and had the right coverage against the Panthers at the end of the half, that would be 6 POINTS in our favor.

The o didn't play well although that d is legit...but when it mattered most the d let them take all the time off the clock on a long td drive we even had to burn all our timeouts on...

I would argue that the drive charts in the second half would change if we ran the ball 15-18 times in the first half. Naturally you are going to have negative rushing plays in the second half if you never threaten to hit anybody in the trenches earlier in the game.
I almost think Sherman and Phibin enjoy it when the first rushing play is blown up, like the inside handoff to Miller to open the Carolina game, stuffed for a 2 yard loss. See, it won't work. We tried. We showed our fans all the evidence they could ask for. Now we can get back to our dainty plan of short passes.

lol...so now we need a QB that never throws an incompletion? Man some of you guys are just unrealistic.
Its brutal, I figure we end up with 8 or 9 wins, depending on the 4 games outside of NE...do we win 2, 3 or 4? But we will probably have 5 or 6 losses less than 7 points. The Tampa and Buffalo losses will haunt us all off-season with the coulda beens. Even if we make the playoffs, we will be on the road for all the games, and I don't see us going to KC/NE or Denver and winning in January. So even if we make it, and thats a big if, short of a miracle it'll be a one or two game run at best. But we are competitive almost every single week. So I don't think we are far away, of course....I felt the same last offseason, and we may win one or two more games. Ireland has to go.

Of course not. I'm just trying to understand how someone can post the drive chart, then come to the conclusion the loss is not largely Tannehill's responsibility. I saw on lot on there, that was.

That sack was a killer and I'm pretty sure Tannehill had enough time to do something there so I put that one on him not the o-line.
To me Tannehill looked like he was having an off game in the first half, we should have tried giving him a lot of help with the running game, instead we were going with lots of empty sets from the shotgun. Then again the running backs looked god awful too so maybe we were ****ed no matter what we tried.

Run into 8 man fronts against Carolina all day and see where it gets you...probably 3rd and 8 plus all game long...Carolina showed stacked boxes all game vs us...your big plays came off checks at the Los into vertical pass plays off pa on 1st downs
I don't agree. This was a complete team loss...just like we have team wins this one was a team loss. There are a lot of things I can point to as reasons we lost...a lot of little things that add up. The dropped pass by Matthews in the end zone (yes he got popped illegally and the flag got picked up but if he holds on we have 4 more points), the FG by the Panthers at the end of the half (Coyle took responsibility for the call), the defense giving up an 80-yard drive to start the 2nd half, the slightly underthrown ball to Wallace in the first half (he caught it but obviously if Tannehill hits him in stride its another 6 points right there...I will say, while everyone is hating on Tannehill, I saw marked improvement in this game on the deep ball...Wallace had to slow up but in games prior Wallace was having to come to a near dead stop to wait on the ball...it's getting better but people are too blinded by their hate to see it), the ultra conservative play calling in the second half with the short passing game, Lamar Miller running backwards and losing mega yardage killing drives, the kicker thinking he was punting and trying to make his FG attempt go out-of-bounds at the 1-yard line, the inability of any of our players, WR, TE or RB to break a tackle and make a freakin play, the defense giving up 4th and 10 at the Panthers 20-yard line...do you know how big a stop that would have been?...the inability to bring Cam Newton down on at least 3 different occasions when he should have been sacked for a huge loss.
I see plenty of blame to go around...so you can blame it largely on Tannehill like you want but I guess I was watching a different game.

Yeah and even if they could have gotten anything the backs were both playing like **** themselves. Like that play they highlighted where Thomas had a huge hole but instead of taking it he cut back and ran right into the blockers. Sherman must be thinking wtf is this ****, I had a more talented players at A&M.
