Here we go again...

This is so true. Last year in Philly their QB threw a ridiculous 27 TD's to just 2 INT's. Our QB will have to do better on his turnovers to make our offense as good as Philly's.

Yeah, and they went deep (over 20 yds in the air) more than we did. Philly was 25 of 55 with 14 TD's and 1 pick. We were 16 of 44 with 3 TD's and 6 picks.

Yes that is the stat that has to improve, but I think it just might. One thing you have to give Ryan is he really works to improve his weakness. His rookie year he was really bad in the redzone, last year he was MUCH improved. Last year we finally got him a deep threat and he wasn't great at getting on the same page with Wallace deep, I think this year is the year where THAT was his biggest issue to work on in the offseason. Lets hope he has the same type of improvement.

On the flip side of that equation however, is I don't know how many QBs make huge strides at getting better throwing deep. Some say that you either "have it" or you don't, when discussing throwing deep. I haven't seen any stats of QBs making huge strides in that department or not. But I think we can all say if he has more time/better protection, it would have to help in that area. I do know throwing deep was also an issue in college. So it wasn't just the lack of protection last year, but he still has many years to get better, let's hope he gets it down this year.

I think 2 or 3 of those picks were Matt Moore's from a game when he was trying to work some magic deep under great duress.
If RT and Wallace can connect on a few of those missed deep opportunities...
I am getting tired of groaning at the TV....

I look at RT with Hartline going deep. Last year, he was 6 of 14 with 2 TD's and a pick and Hartline getting no throws on the right side which is easier. The year befoe, that connection was good on 11 of 25, with a TD and no picks. When Hartline was on the right side. they hit on 10 of 21. To compare, RT and Wallace were 5 of 26 with a TD, and 3 picks (1 to Moore).

Hartline is far from a burner who is gonna run by the D wide open. I have to think he would be harder to connect with on deep throws but, they had their timing down, and were both on the same page on routes. I expect some of the same with Wallace this year.

It was one deep, and another between 10-19 yards. I wish I could only groan. I've had neighbors come to the door thinking there was a major problem, and one even came with his gun. lol
