he hasnt started, but he has played in the nfl
yes, for all of 8 plays.

FYI everyone here is Phillip Rivers' professional football career thus far:

5/8 for 33 yards, 62.5% comp, and 1 TD.

yeah, why the hell would we want him?

Drew Brees is the QB of that team. I hope we don't get stupid and trade a draft pick for him next year.

Is that your complete argument against him.

Rivers is still a rookie, he hasent played a NFL game in the regular season

in reference to ur sig, It should be Bleed Orange and Agua not Orange and blue...

Rivers was in the last game of the season last year I liked Rivers felt he did a good job seeing as he only played a couple quartes in a real nfl game

I have been a Feeley supporter...I will admit that he is a bust.

This franchise needs a cornerstone Q.B. right now.

We don't need Marino but we do need an NFL caliber Q.B. We can have the best defense in football and a great running game all we want...in todays NFL we need a passer to beat teams.

I'm also a Phillip Rivers fan.

San Diego won't be able to keep both him and Brees much past this year.

I am ALL for trading for Rivers or Brees at some point.

I'd give up a first rounder for either of them. Yes we need to stop trading picks BUT, I think we need a Q.B. who can come in and play right now more then we need a Q.B. who could take 2-3 years to develop.

I'm not going to get into what if's regarding either of them...I'll just say I'd take either right now for our first round pick in 2006...without giving it too much thought to be honest.

My god...12 of 19 passing...what a bust.
P. Rivers 4/11 15yds 0-td 0-int

This was against The Vikings a week ago. Those look like A.J. Feeley stats to me, and we don't want another A.J. Feeley in Miami, do we? Lets get our own QB to develop next year or a starter that is going to hit the free agency market.

QB's arent allowed to throw INT's? I mean, cmon, Marino used throw them. Peyton Manning had 22 in one year. for crying out loud stop crying out loud.

are you kidding? those stats aren't mind-blowing, but they're decent. Keep in mind the guy hasn't played in an NFL game yet. He will be a star, and if we can get him next year, we should try.
He will not be a star. I have known that since the day he got drafted. Rivers will never be anything in this league mark my words. I know I dont really know this as a fact but I personally have always believed he was overrated.

you must agree, rivers could come to miami next friday, and start against the broncos on the 11th....well not really, but you do get the point. he would be...hands down the best qb in miami by far...

Omar Jacobs will come out and if he does, we may be able to get him. He is the real deal. His head is equal to his physical talent. Watch and see.

im just saying Orange and blue our not our team colors, even if we have have navy blue in the uni its still not the teams colors

The O-line he had were 2-3rd stringers after the first. What impresses me about Rivers is is pocket presence. He also does not rush throws and is not scared to pull the ball down and take a sack or throw it away. The pass or shovel pass or whatever you want to call it with Sproles shows you what kind of vision he has. He also does not panic in the pocket, looks off receivers etc...

There's no way to call him a bust this early! Im a Brees fan but in my opion, Rivers will be a very special QB, whether it be with teh Bolts or a different team.

Another aspect that I am impressed with Rivers is his quick release. It showed over and over again how he can hit the slants, comebackers, etc... Time will prove what kind of QB Rivers is, but to those that call him a bust hasnt really seen the kid play. IMHO- "vision" and pocket presence is some of the most important traits a QB must have.
