He's Doing It For The Money

Oh, absolutely! I mean having a potential super star on the team is just horrible.

I couldn't disagree more. The odds are against Ricky ever being a superstar again, and while I am sure he will be a great change of pace back, he sure isn't going to be the Ricky we saw 3 years ago. We drafted RB at the #2 position and will be paying him as such. Since it is obvious that Ricky is back for the money, how long do you think he will have to play at the league minimum to pay that back? He won't. If he does well this season, you can bet that contract will be renegotiated if he is retained. That will be fun position to be in. I won't even mention the media circus and other potential issues surrounding Ricky's return.

The only way Ricky is good for this team is if the OL still completely sucks and we are planning on another poor season. If this is the case, then run him until the line gets better. Otherwise, he just doesn't have much value.

he's a loser, just a strong one. horrible person though.

he is not doing it for the money did you watch the show 60 minutes about ricky he says it all.

He is only back for the money! say what you want, but thats the fact jack!

3 kids that we know of, trips all over the place, who the heck would hire him in the real world? He had no choice! Repair his image and go out on good terms was his only choice for a future (a future with earnings!!!)

Yeah, Its gonna take awhile for him to pay that all back. Lets hope Ricky discovers what a condom is.

I'm pretty curious about how the other players feel. I doubt anyone will be very vocal about either way though.

I think most players are in the league for money. It's a job, I doubt many players would play for free. He probably is coming back for money, but who cares.

Some of the posts here are insanely bad. We have people claiming Ricky won't ever be a superstar again. Proof? We have another poster saying $500,000 will be enough to get him crack, but only in a couple of years after he gets enough money. Again, where's the proof?

Are these just opinions? Probably, but not very well thought out IMO.

No one knows what Ricky will bring to this team. Why can't we wait to see if it all works out?

I no longer have the link, but there was a very good statistical breakdown of Ricky's probability of success measured against evidence from other RB's in the league. Could he beat those odds? Maybe, but it's not likely.

I Know hes in it for the money he needs to pay child support and he needs to get this debt off his back and the only way of doing this is playing football. Great! I think he can be an awsome third down back and a great player to wear down the defense which will make it easier for Ronnie to run all over a defense after its been banged up by Ricky. Who cares if hes in it for the money or not he will turn out to be a positive for the team as long as Saban keeps things under control which he will.

I'm tired of seeing people say that he is only back for the money. I'm not saying that you people are wrong, but if you make the maximum salary 500,000 a year next year, we wouldnt have a NFL season because all the players are playing for the money.

As I posted in another thread a little while ago, when do you generally see the best results for a player? The Contract Season!!! Because the player is playing for more money. Just quit the he's only back for the money stuff!

He's doin it for the money brother........it's all about padding those empty pockets of his and satisfying paternity suits..........

Did you not read what he said? Of course RW is back for the money, just as Ronnie Brown will be coming to camp. No player is playing in the NFL soley for the fun of it. Its always about the paycheck.

Do you find this wrong?

Every player plays for money but not every player has a huge debt to pay.
That debt will be greatly reduced at some point. Especially since Miami did not pay most of it.

Of course he's doing it for the money...I want to know one person on this board who WOULD'NT do it for the money (and if you say you would'nt you are a liar).

The guy has a chance to get an 8.6 million dollar debt off his back.

That being said...he also has to be commited...if he was ONLY doing it for the money he'd get himself killed. This is the NFL...not tiddly winks...you better WANT to be there.

I still don''t trust him, I still don't think having him back is a good idea, I still think he is a quitter and I still think he is basically Mike Tyson in football pads (only in it for the money)....that being said I'll be screaming my a$$ off when he turns the corner, straight arms Takeo Spikes in the mouth and runs for a 45 yard touchdown...

The one thing I have to remind myself...and ALL Bill/Jet/Patriot fans on this board...when he left he was a top 3 running back and TORE you guys up. It's not like he is 35 years old...he is still in the prime of his career.

I think if his head stays straight and he wants to...he's a top 10 MAYBE a top 5 runner...that makes me giddy and should make AFC East teams afraid.

Pothead quitter or not...the guy was damn good.

I'm going to go on record...and Nick Saban's presser todaty made me realize this...we ALL make mistakes. Anyone on this board who has'nt done something they regret is a liar or a born again liar.

I still don't trust him...but the difference between now and 2 months ago is I'm willing to try...he's a Miami Dolphin....I have to give him a chance.

How is he a horrible person? Has he injured anyone? What has he done that makes him horrible?

Matter of fact I think RW is a fine person, just not the type person who we have grown accustom to seeing in the NFL. His life is not football and that is something most fans have a hard time understanding.
