HEY LOOK A PFT: Ryan Clark says nobody wants to play for Dolphins Thread

That´s my point, Peterson doesn´t want his name attached to this mess...

Super for you, I still have no idea what this has to do with the original reason I brought up Carls' name.

What in the world are you talking about with Ross and false adverting?

As far as not getting a splash in FA. Really? So because he doesn't make the moves you like before FA is over he is an idiot and deserves to be fired. I don't get some of you, honestly.

And F Dez Bryant, tough sh*t if he can't take questions like that. It's the NFL and they are paying these guys a lot of money. I'm glad Ireland asked him that. It's a good question to test the mans character. I doubt it's the toughest question any college player was asked during an interview. God I hope it isn't. This world is becoming so PC, and over reacts to every freaking thing. That incident is the most over blown pile of crap I've ever seen.

Yes no one else is coming here, and Ireland hasn't signed one FA player, EVER! My gosh!

ross said he wanted an exciting high scoring offense, quick scoring that competes for a superbowl...havent seen anything what so ever to say we are headed in the right direction

Ireland is a good personel man, but he showed his himself to me when he went behind Tony's back like that that last yr on the trip to find a new coach......that was supposed to be his buddy.....why would you work for a guy like that unless you have too?

also said that he wanted a franchise QB and that he was going to do everything in his power to get one and compete for a superbowel , said THAT WAS HIS MAIN ATTENTION WAS QB.

Same can be said for Ross. Something is rotten on top.

Ryan Clark- players don't want to come to Miami because of Jeff Ireland

So why are the Dolphins having a hard time luring free agents to South Beach? Steelers safety Ryan Clark has a theory.

After Clark congratulated quarterback Matt Flynn on joining the Seahawks via Twitter, one of Clark’s followers writes that “NO ONE wants to go to the Dolphins!” Clark responds by saying, “No one! To believe I almost went there but it was easy decision not to.”

Clark was referring to his decision in 2010 to stay with the Steelers in lieu of joining the Dolphins.

So what’s the issue? Clark later says, “It’s my honest opinion. Not a good guy making decisions.”

Here’s referring, presumably, to G.M. Jeff Ireland.

Clark didn’t specifically say whether other players share his opinion, but it’s implied in the “No one!” tweet.

If it’s true, the Dolphins need to find a way to fix the situation. If it’s not true, the Dolphins need to find a way to reverse a false perception.

sour grapes

this very well may be true, but i'll pass on any opinion Ryan Clark has on the Miami Dolphins.

Clark's an azzwipe who even tweeted that he reassured his neighbors that he'd stay with the Steelers unless he gets blown away by an offer. He had no intention of doing anything other than using us for leverage (unfortunately that sounds too familiar) unless we backed up the Brinks Truck to give him what the Giants gave, Antrel Rolle, someone who's an excellent safety. Unfortunately for Clark, Troy P had gone done that year and it revealed him for the run-of-the-mill player he is. Ireland interviewed him in good faith, maybe low balled him, maybe offered him what he thought was fair based on Clark's skill level (didn't really lowball Dansby that year, now did they?) and maybe was too blunt or undiplomatic in dispensing a dose of marketplace reality. It rarely goes over well when you learn that to everyone except your family, you're not worth top dog payscale.. so he's been harboring a grudge ever since. Petulant Pissant.

This is not meant to defend Ireland per se cause especially lately I have my doubts, but to temper some of the Pavlovian droolfest with some objectivity.

This doesn't come as much of a shock. Despite what some of our resident "ostriches with their heads in the sands" believe, Jeff Ireland isn't capable of building a winning franchise. He needed to go along with Sparano. Keeping him to mess up one more free agency session and draft only hurts this team. I wish Ross was smart enough to realize this.

Here is the PFT-article to his:

Wow... Huge indictment. I always thought that Channing had sour grapes, but it seems like most players just hate Ireland for whatever reason. They probably aren't so hot on Ross either.

I think Ireland is a good scout, but he just doesn't have the persona and people skills necessary for the role of GM.

All you have to do is watch JI in a presser to get the sense the guy is a jerk, dirtbag, prima donna, know nothing. It's a viseral reaction to JI - guy is not likeable and worse.

Ross ... don't really care how well he has done in his business ventures outside of football, he seems inept here. That doesn't mean he is not intelligent in some areas - law and real estate obviously. However, he is not an operations manager. He probably approaches deal making like a real estate mogul but that isn't going to work in the NFL. Money can't buy everyting you want. These deals aren't for inanimate objects that the owner could care less about after the sale. These are organizations where much of the capital is human capital and they care about working environment etc. A bunch of intangibles that apparently Mr Ross does get. This guy can "get" much beyond expressing I want to win.... rah rah. Well yeah really.

players get rejected by teams all the time in free agency ,for what ever reason, but they don't bad mouth the team.i think clark's opion of ireland may be true.
