Good interview with Andy Cohen about how Hickey is implementing new technology for the draft. Pretty fascinating stuff, and he also mentioned that an analytical department is being created.

Cohen also promised an article coming out tomorrow that will shed more information on this. Apparently Tampa Bay was the only one using this technology in the past, and they might not anymore with Lovie in town. Hickey and the Dolphins might be the only ones.
 
Technology and football... Tuna on my hamburger- they just dont go. This is not a game for rocket science. Its beauty is in the complexity of its simplicity. But throw darts at a chart for all i care. Just make certain your 1st pick is, at the very least, a solid starter come opening day.
 
glad to see Hickey is a progressive, forward minded thinker. with that being said this "technology" really is just a giant player database. very cool to have to at your disposal, but nothing revolutionary.

Well Tampa had it or has it. Either way it's not revolutionary. It's a smart big board. It makes sense to have it and it has definitive advantages against moving magnet name plates on a board.

They mentioned that Hickey is developing an analytics department for the Dolphins, something they never had. This is critical in my opinion and I can't believe they didn't have it already. I can't wait to see how this guy handles the draft.
 
Great, more technology to dumb the human race down... Surround yourself with good talent evaluators and have a good grasp/insight on what type of players will excel at the next level.. Ceiling, skill set, character, stats, motivation. Are you a good judge of character.. Lets hope Hickey has it...
 
Dear God, please let us draft actual football players and not specimens or projects. Lets get guys who can play and make plays and have done it before. Ireland was such a ****ing disaster

A man that has every advantage and every bit of information, will always beat the man that only has his wits to help him, as long as that man with the advantages in the end uses his gut feelings and knowledge.

If you watched the video, Hickey said this was just added information, and tools to make decisions better, but in the end, it will be what they did in the field talking and watching the talent.
