I think him and our cap guru are off to a great start.

For starters Paul Soliai signs 5-year, $33M deal with the Falcons. So what does Hickey do? He goes out and gets Earl Mitchell, who is the top DT available, and signs him for less money than Soliai got at $16 million for 4 years that includes $9 million guaranteed. HUGE SAVINGS! :420:

Then we turn around and get the franchise LT we should have had last year, thanks Ireland. Yes we probably over spend a little for him, when compared to the money Monroe got (who is younger but not the player Albert is) but it is worth it to get a Pro Bowl LT.

We had a little more than $33 million going into the day available. Not sure what the yearly breakdowns are on the deals we got accomplished today, along with the $3.5 million deal we inked yesterday with Delmas.

That combined with the key signing of Grimes, and the sweet deal there, is doing nothing but putting more faith and trust into what Hickey and Aponte can do together.

Am I all in? DAMN RIGHT I AM ALL IN with these signings so far.

I would figure we probably have about 2 more big moves we can make in FA + the players we need to resign & our draft picks.

I like most of the moves made so far, but this is ridiculously Pre mature.

I understand your excited and that's great. There's still a lot of time left and a lot left to prove when the season starts. Remember what happened to WV and his Jeff Ireland is a Boss or Like a Boss ...whatever thread. Wait and see...wait and see...

agreed. i think we get a RT (HOWARD) and a RB (TATE) and a CB (insert name here) and then we are off to the draft. we get martin from ND to play LG in the first round.

I'm going to go with cautiously optimistic..

Yes we were, but with much hesitation as Ireland refused to address the OL in FA (which we all begged for). Then we were all in for him to address it in the draft. Then that passed as well. After all that we hoped that the other additions could mask those holes and they didn't.

I think if we can get a RT and RB in FA we can then set our sights on a TE in the first round of the draft. I think we can get a starting guard in the 3rd round and possibly another RB in the 2nd.

These moves plus someone like an Ebron, Mason, and Yankey would be a home run draft.

Our draft board has changed considerably - we can go BPA - with a or without a few more signings

Careful dude, ppl here will jump your ass for saying hickey is doing a good job.

a perfect example of irrational exuberance. hickey hasnt done anything spectacular yet. fins dont have a roster yet, nor have they played a down. its all speculation. lets calm down a bit. we've seen this emotion before.

Seeing what Vantae is getting, props to Hickey for being proactive in making sure Miko's hubby never made it into free agency

Our draft board has not changed at all. Why would you even think that. So far, we have done little of nothing.
