Hold the Presses...new possible trade partner

larry johnson? um no thanks
If Johnson were in this draft, where would he rate? Maybe a second round RB, early third? So, in other words, we trade our #2 for the #15, #25 and the #36 - #45 (approximate worth of Johnson if he were in this year's draft. Is that agreeable?

can someone plse refresh my memory why his (LJ) coach made fun of him last yr? cry babie or should wear diapers or something. was it for motivation or something else?

I just want a bluechip pick in the top 10.

If we get extra picks its going to be no more than 2.

I just want a bluechip and for our coaching staff to prove that they did their work for the rest of the picks.

DV said it was time for LJ to take off his diapers. LJ mouthed off to the media at the beginning of last year about wanting to get more playing time etcetera. That combined with Carl basically going over DV's head to draft him meant that DV was going to have LJ in his doghouse for a while. They got a long better after LJ came in and started and did an outstanding job.

Interesting scenario. I doubt it will happen and am not thrilled about it anyway. I've never like Larry Johnson, not at Penn St. or KC. But I do have to admit he did much better replacing Priest than I thought he would.

Outstanding job? This was with the same offensive line that made Blaylock look like Tony Dorsett. Not sure it was LJ. This is a very sketchy deal, hopefully it's nothing more than a rumour meant to spice up our otherwise dreary evenings. Thank God all this crap is over in about 36 hours.

he looked great, but the line for sure had something to do with it

If it happens, I'll be happy. If not.. I'll be happy... I would like the extra picks, but 15 is a heck of a drop..

There is talk that #7 and #18 may not be enough, in which case #9 and #25 definitely isn't enough.

The KC thing has merit, but we'll see.

Actually the talk of NFL experts outside of Saban is that this draft, those picks would be more than enough, since the quality of players just isn't there at the top of the draft. If we got that offer we should thank the football gods and pull it off.

Hah, quick only a day and half left before the draft! We need to discover all possible scenarios before then! This only like the bazillionth trade possibility I've heard in the last month. I don't even know what to think anymore.

Maybe... but look at the trade value chart.

I agree... #7 and #18 would be cool, but I also agree with KB, that people are undervaluing the #2 pick.

Sounds a bit far-fetched to me. 9 and 25 isn't quite enough for 2, they'd need to send us something else. I like LJ, though. Enough that I'd take him as compensation for dropping 6 spots.

I'm listening to Sporting news radio on XM and a K.C. fan is on...saying that the newest hot rumor going on there is this....Washington want's to trade with the Dolphins....the Dolphins number 2 pick for Washington's 9th and 25th picks. Sounds reasonable....now the interesting part....K.C. has been blowing smoke concerning Surtain....most if not all teams know the Chiefs need a corner...but the chiefs want the other teams to believe that they are going after a corner in the draft...instead they are going to trade for surtain using the 46th pick and this is where it gets better....they are going to trade up to the Dolphins 9th pick by trading their 15th pick and Larry Johnson. This way they get their corner and the player they feel they need to move up for. The Dolphins get their Running back...plus they have the 15th and 25th and 46th picks.
Frankly I have to believe it....I don't think any person could figure out why the chief's wouldn't trade the 46th pick for a pro-bowl corner...it just didn't make any sense...what possible player could they get with the 46th pick that could come close to a player like Surtain...but after hearing this...it all comes together. The Chiefs get their two players...they get cap space by trading Larry Johnson...who hasn't had much chance to play behind Holmes...and the Dolphins settle the running back position with a big back that can catch and block...and acquire the additional picks Saban wanted. Lets hope this works out...if it comes to pass...it'll be the best trading day we have had in awhile!
GO PHINS!

I would love it...this would give us a good runningback, and still a top 15 pick in which we could trade down again with the eagles to pick up more stuff actually

I watched almost every game Larry Johnson played his senior year at PSU- the big concern was he didn't play so well vs. Ohio State and Michigan, but he rolled over everyone else. Those who say he didn't like LJ at PSU probably didn't see him play enough. He was a monster his senior year. The diaper thing was just a motiviational ploy, probably taken too far- by diapers, Vermeil just meant it's time to step up and join the big boys, but Johnson took it the wrong way and snapped. This deal sounds so far-fetched that I can't take it seriously, but I'd love to see it. We could fill four holes, RB, maybe add Marcus Spears at 15, w/the late 1st QB(Frye/Campbell) or a safety then best available with the 2nd rounder, plus save huge $$ against the cap. It almost sounds too good to be true.
