How many games must Sparano and Ireland win?

According to the poll ... he's got a virtual fork in him right now!!

I think he's gotta show he can coach & win games with coaching ... right now we're twisting in the wind on Henne's performance. Any fool can do that.

Going to have to say 11 wins or a playoff berth. Obviously, if they win 10 games but make the playoffs, Ross will be pleased.

To make the playoffs now adays you have to hit 11 wins or more, outside of the West divisions in both conferences. If we hit 10 wins but the Pats and Jets both have +12 wins, Ross will still not be pleased. Hit 11 wins and still not make it and only miss a playoff berth by a single game or tie breaker, then thats more of a statement.

With Houston, Baltimore, New York Jets, and San Diego(though lets face it, they will win their division, so lets say Kansas City) all taking aim at 2 wildcard berths this is not going to be a kind season to try and sneak in. At the end of the day, we will finish 2nd or 3rd in our division, so the win/loss record is not going to lose them their jobs as much as how close they are to the playoffs.

Judging from the poll I think the Dolphins have succeeded in finally making a lot of you accept mediocrity.

I voted ten, BUT just maybe we should clean house, start off fresh and get rid of them all, yea that would be good cuz it would give you guys something to talk about for the next 4 yrs.

These guys can survive less than 10 wins only if Henne proves to be a QB they can build around(of course that would probably mean the defense taking a step back)

LOL at people voting 8 or less. A regime in their 4th year, coming off back to back 7-9 seasons, putting together a 8 or 9 win season, needs to be shown the door.

I don't think the amount of wins will factor in the decision as much as how the offense progresses and how close we are to the playoffs. If our offense shows progression and we are in the playoff mix right down to the very last week I think Ross keeps them. I voted for 10 but I definitely see how they could still be around next year if they only come up with 9.

If we start out slow like 1-4, I feel Ross will immediately start looking for a new coach. It's playoffs or get fired.

9-10....I think it should have more to do with how the team looks over a 16 game season, if they finish strong which they havent done the last two yrs I could see them coming back for another yr. If they get out to a 7-3 record and then tank the end of the season and go 10-6 i could see them get fired......I for one will not call for the firing of Tony until the season is over....No matter what happens to Tony I think we should keep Ireland......

If it all goes south, we need to be the ones to grab Cowher before the NYG do. Coach Coughlin is on a short leash here in NY as well...........

I put 9 but I think they could be back with 8. 10 and they should be safe even according to us.

I'm not sure they should be back at 9-7 but I think they would be. I think if they win 9 we have to talk about why they went 9-7.

I would keep them around at least two more years despite this year's record. To me this is the first real season where they have the team the way they want it. We are young and big and I like having Mike Nolan. Few more seasons and everything should gell.

Dont feel like Sparano needs to get fired if they manage 9 wins, considering the schedule. I think they'll get that, maybe 10 if the team is healthy and they catch a break here and there. anyone who is demanding 11 wins or more is just being difficult. this is a tough league to run the table like that.

I think the number of Dolphin fans in the seats at Joe Robbie at the end of the season will determine their fate.
