How many games must Sparano and Ireland win?

9-7 wild card would work. 9-7 without playoffs?? Then if Ross feels he can get Cowher if he comes back, then I think he'll go for it.

They have to win a minimum of eight. Ross has made it very clear mediocrity isn't going to be accepted. 8-8 wouldn't be a "winning" season, but it's still a step in the right direction.

Is 8-8 not the very definition of mediocre?

For me it's going to playoffs, so to be absolutely sure, it's 11. If he gets 10 and playoffs, he'll be safe. Otherwise, i would look around for coaches, but i have faith that Tony can do it!!

Unfortunately the Dolphins have no recent history of requiring excellence, above average, or even just not be an embarrassment. Based on that it seems to be far easier to come up with excusses then it is to come up with results. I'm sure 8-8 would be heralded as a success.

I think 9 or better. I can't see Ross being this patient again with the likes of Cowher and Gruden out there on the sidelines doing nothing.

We have three really tough games in our first four, and the other game is not a gimme. I can see us going into KC 2-5 or worse.

I voted 7, but honestly if Tony goes .500, I think he's safe. I don't think Ross will want another coach controversy in back to back years.

It's year four of this regime. Not only do they need to make the playoffs, but they MUST win a playoff game. Anything less than that is absolutely unacceptable. These guys have had more than enough time to get their acts together, sh*t or get off the pot.

low ticket sales and the availability of big name coaches like Cowher, Gruden and Fisher being on the market means 10 wins or everyone's fired.

10. And I dont think Ireland will be going anywhere no matter what the record is. He will just convince Ross that it is all Tony's fault. Keeping Ireland would also mean no Gruden or Cowher.
.

Neither do I. I think Ireland and Ross have built up a pretty good relationship since Duane Charles Parcells left the building. If it means saving his own skin, he'll throw Tony under the bus.
