Honest question

Move on too who...Moore? pfft.

Then next year what draft another qb?

Sent from my Nexus 7 FHD

Im not sure Matt Moore's mama could start Matt Moore over Tannehill.
People act like Tannehill has thrown like 9 picks in three games and was the only issue we have had

we should legitimately have a merged thread so all the armchair scouts can bitch about tannehill in one place and praise themselves for knowing all along.

Coming from you? You are "one of those people". This forum wouldn't skip a beat without you here constantly stirring up ****. You are as casual of a fan as it gets, and know absolutely nothing about the intricacies of the game. Go somewhere else.

Again... rude.

Not here to insult you.

You've been defeated in your analysis of Tannehill. His numbers speak for themselves. I have said many times why I think RT is not a franchise QB and you haven't been able to put forth any argument in the other direction other than excuses for his poor play.

Well isn't this a fresh and insightful subject. Can't imagine why this subject has never been discussed before on this site. Instead of polluting FinHeaven with more of this trash why don't you guys just start your own forum where you can spend all day sharing your little nuggets of wisdom amongst yourselves and congratulating each other about how you knew when RT was born that he would never be a franchise QB. Call it WEHateRTHeaven.com and watch those advertisers roll in. Good luck.

What the hell are you talking about? You confused? Quote me on my "defeated analysis of Tannehill". Good luck finding it, and thanks for putting words in my mouth for me.

I know there are 40 tannehill threads.I have known he was garbage since day 1, however here is my question.
We all know that he will NEVER live up to his draft position, however, what exactly is he great or even good at?
  • Arm Strength-well below avg
  • 0-15 yds accuracy-avg at best
  • 15+ yds accuracy-historically bad
  • athleticism- well below avg, 2014 Drew Bledsoe
  • Reading defense/audibles-locks in on one WR every snap.
  • leadership qualities-He is basically non existent
Someone please tell me what he currently excels at or even what area he shows promise. There is literally not one area where he is above avg. Not trolling just venting as a lifelong Dolphin fan that doesn't wanna see another year wasted on a QB that will be out of the league in 2 years.

I'll give you a thumbs up because you know what? To me, mechanics-wise, there's not really a whole lot Tannehill excels at.
There have been 40+ Tannehill debate threads like you said, but every single one of them just has reasons why he sucks, not reasons why he's great.
He can zip a nice short yard pass, so that's nice. He can take on a blitz (or, used to take on a blitz, in his first season). His 2 min. drill is not that bad *when the team is fired up.
His arm strength is fine, he can definitely heave it (usually not a catchable-ball or it's into tight coverage).

I'm not really seeing much else that makes him a Great QB. I used to think Tannehill was pretty good, until he started getting the team around him he needed, the O Line and WR's. Now that pieces are in place, he's plays like he's stuck in "urrrk my team around me is floundering!" when really, they're not more than half the time, it's just him not executing or getting his receivers in good enough spots to make YAC.

He still has potential and I have hope for him to evolve this season, but the guy's flaws are starting to overshadow his perks. And for that I agree OP. Is Tannehill a great QB? I really, really don't know why he would be called one right now.

I think it's funny how people think there is some amazing team around Tannehill. I'm not making excuses for him anymore because his play hasn't been great but the rest of the team is pretty bad too. Receivers that can't get any separation. A one legged TE. Horrible special teams. Questionable defense. Still a shaky o-line that has at times looked better but at times just as bad as last year (see the Bills). There are very few bright spots on this team.

I said in another thread that he seems to have poor "throttle control" if you will, he dials it down way too much in the middle stages of the game, he's too lackadaisical most of the time. Its a shame too because he looks like a completely different QB when it comes time to go "full throttle" especially at the end of first halves in the two minute drill. And I don't even believe its the hurry up aspect of the two minute drill, I think its just a switch goes off where he goes from being a "don't make a mistake" guy to "attack mode" guy. He looks like a really good QB when he becomes "attack mode" guy and the offense looks completely different. Now, that could be because defenses play a lot different, or you could say its on the coaches to get him to "attack mode" guy more often, but if he played like he did in the final minute of the first half of the KC game a lot more often he could be a really good QB.

I'm aware they're problematic too, but I think his issue is, this 2014 season, he doesn't adapt to those deficiencies well. If something around him sucks, he won't do much to make up for it. This is the opposite of what I saw in his first 2 years, Tannehill was practically one of the few bright spots on the team. Now that the offense is IMO a bit more rounded out (not without flaws) he all of the sudden can't make it happen?
Sounds to me like he's regressing, or simply staying stagnant as an 8-8 record QB.

Again, I think the guy can improve, and I don't really blame him for everything, but IMO he's looking the worst he ever has right now as far as game-winning potential, and that's more on him than it is the team.
Hopefully in London he shows us a glimpse of the true potential once more.
