hooshoops;1065125816..lamar miller i need more vision...hard lateral action the backers get caught up inside he's got a massive cut back lane to the weakside after the blitzing slot defender comes up field to the qb and he instead puts his head down and takes the 3 yards the defense gives...jump cut that sucker back to the weakside like arian foster has made a living doing and you are downhill and 20 yards untouched...vision is key in a zone scheme i need more of it.
....i still don't see much depth wise at rb...i see a lot more quality depth rbs on other teams rosters...they all look run of the mill to me..[B said:
.this unit needs knowshon moreno [/B]
We do need Knowshon, that's what I have been saying, too. It's not good enough. And now even with Lazor - he was the test, Miller is showing no signs of breaking out. He's fast, that's it. He's not physical, not elusive, once there's contact he goes down, he's not shifty...he's just speedy, and if there's a clear hole in front of his face, forget it he's gone, but other than that, there's nothing.
Meanwhile...Carlos Hyde, the best back of the draft is shining. He's even catching passes out of the Pistol:
Carlos Hyde | Running Back
Team: San Francisco 49ers
Rookie Carlos Hyde was the second back through the 49ers' running back rotation in Sunday's second preseason game against the Broncos, rushing four times for 11 yards and catching one pass for a gain of nine. His rushing stats stand at 50 yards on nine carries through two exhibitions. Frank Gore handled two runs, and Hyde took care of the rest of San Francisco's first-team tailback work. The 49ers continue to show trust in the second-round pick, giving him snaps next to Colin Kaepernick in Pistol formations. Hyde played in the Pistol at Ohio State, but an NFL passing game has much more responsibilities, particularly in protection. Hyde even lined up outside at wide receiver on a first-quarter snap. Clearly a quick study, Hyde is worth considering as early as the ninth round in 12-team drafts. Aug 17 - 4:58 PM
First round pick next year for Miami has to be RB or TE. I remember you or someone saying RB is going to go early in the draft next year because the players are so good. We have to get one. I think everyone underestimates the importance of a good running game and a talented running back.
