Wtf was that mike Sherman shotgun single back after the Mathews 1st down conversion late while the chargers were burning tos??? I think I have seen enough the oc must go...that's inexcusable you run that ball 3 times straight and worst case kick it back to them with like 1:10 on the clock no timeouts...that loss had it happened would have been on your oc...that's just plum rediculous...

5 and 5 in drivers seat for the 6 seed just got to beat the jets horrendous qb by shutting down the run and the bills and hell maybe 8 and 8 does it...what a could have been season we are on right now...

I wish I felt this team could win next week but I don't the chargers run out bad football players at end lb and corner hell some of those guys making sacks on us today I wouldn't recognize anywhere ever...Carolina that won't happen...they are much much better with the edge rush players...

Good news is even a loss next week doesn't hurt us...Baltimore losing today was huge...the jets come on guys tannehill or geno smith is a joke...Tennessee could rise up but look at their sched...it's still crazy as it sounds right there for us...but do I want Sherman and the oline coach and Ireland back??? I know Ireland must go the oline coach does nothing and shermy tonight sealed it for me...

Let's get to the game...Charles clay I guess now you guys know why is said he was the most improved player on the team..,can win quickly when flexed out can make people miss blocking is much improved...said it before saying it again better tender that 2nd round or higher he's a guy finding his place in this league...way to turn a what should be 10 yard completion into 6 and make a play for your qb...not many times I recall I can say that...

Sam brenner not bad...gave up one sack moved pretty well...I don't think its sustainable next week against that front off what I saw though...

bryant mckinnie 2 sacks on you today...one on one I like what I see...still best pure pass pro tackle on this team...but 2nd time I saw you blow a line call assignment vs a blitzing db you must pick up...

saw us run a screen play where Clabo is expected to get out to the db to Wallace...I laughed...not a chance in hell...waste down...I bet the charger Dc laughed in the booth for that call...

Ryan tannehill let's get into his night...threw a come back on 2nd and long to hartline where if he doesn't fall down the chargers can never set up the long down and distances coverage call to undercut hartline at the sticks on 3rd and very long...the slot defender dropping out into that hole was a direct reflection of film study and keying hartlines routes in scenarios and knowing that he's a run to the sticks and show your numbers wr in that scenario...we got baited...complete product off film study and hartline falling down on 2nd and long...

Missed a vertical to Wallace where he had time and space and was clean he underthrew...got to hit that...no excuses out in front walk in 6...2nd time in two games...

Ran out of bounds on the last drive where if he stays in bounds clock goes to 2 minutes...gave up 8 seconds after the punt...that's not a good play but the ocs the dunce for lining him up in shotgun to begin with...jeez line up under center and run the football...

missed an out to hartline on that same final drive where I swear given how far off the ball was he must have been thinking why are we not running the ball at this sorry front???

Daniel Thomas ran hard and thru contact all night...don't hate on that guy tonight cause he brought his lunch pail and gained the yards to be gained...

if I'm being honest hartline the first 3 quarters was awful...dropped a ball on a crosser worried about contact
from the lb he was invading in the red on the first drive fell down on a come back that set up the int on the next play fumbled a ball at the goal line we got bailed out on by a roughing call which was legit...bounced back late in the 4th quarter but IMO Rishard Mathews should be the 2 wr on this team...I don't get why DBS give hartline so much cushion when he is absolutely a to the sticks wr...I guess it's his route running...

Anybody else tired of this d giving up points every time this o scores??? It's like a given this defense will give up at minimum 3 every time this o gets a lead or momentum...

San Diego's got dj fluker playing lt do you know how slow footed that pile driver is and it took til the 4th quarter for any of our edge guys to do anything with him surprisingly it was a power rush by Vernon that got the job done when any rusher with an outside redirect inside move would have had him falling all over himself...jeez

Cam wake took the game off in the first half...he looks like a guy that is saving himself to me although he did get the rolled protection all night...

dion Jordan's rush is the same it's been since ha arrived wide speed dip the shoulder or bull rush nothing to the inside and he's still off the ball late...top 5 pick develop an inside counter move son...he needs to have it next year...

philip wheeler overrunning run plays all over the place...what a mistake that was...I say it every week

With came wake getting more healthy I see more dion Jordan in coverage but not more Stand up rusher thru gaps etc...come on Kevin coyle

Miami loves to show its hand presnap...Philip rivers was laughing at us at times with how much we give away our intentions...

the td by the chargers deirdorf said redirect gates at the Los if ellerbe engages gates wood head has a walk in td on an out cutting route...once reshad jones was caught flat footed that's an easy 6...but rivers is reading first ellerbe to see if he jumps gates and gives away wood head or reshad jones feet and hips...

Dmirti Patterson plays well when he plays makes corner a strength...but that's just it...guy needs a new groin I guess he's out way too much...better be careful giving him 5.3 mil next year to return

Chargers d is bad...they got a lot of weaknesses...I wish we had taken advantage of the more but given the mash unit our oline is right now we did about as much as we could...it's not enough next week vs Carolina though...

The tides are turning in Miami...the offense is catching up with the defense...

Good write up! It amazes me how people jump all over Wallace yet excuse after excuse for Hartline!

I'm tired of talking QB, so I'd like your input on this:

I've seen other posters who I think are very knowledgeable opine that Mike Pouncey gives away the snap by moving his head right before he snaps the ball. I noticed Nate Garner did not do that today, and not only were the Chargers caught jumping offsides several times, but they also weren't really getting a great jump on the ball. Do you think there's anything to that, or was that simply a case of San Diego's front being that bad?

And yes, Hartline was flat out bad for most of the day. Meanwhile, Mike Wallace turned in a pretty good game. If only these guys could all turn in a good game on the same day...

That's possible but I should have mentioned tanny quick snapped em a few times also changed up things at the Los...but yes I think you make a great point.,.there was more offsides than I have ever seen...something made it happen...pouncey could learn from it...

That and we were actually able to mix the snap count because our center today isn't as dumb as a box of rocks.

I have no idea why that header says ironic...I guess I hit something on this stupid I pad...too many beers ha ha

The big thing with Hartline is, why is it so hard for him to keep his feet? Dude just can not stay upright. I don't understand it.

He could be such a better player if he wasn't out there like he was on a slip and slide.

Moving Pouncey to guard is a great idea. Garner was just fine as the center and like Ryan said Miami actually changed up snap count.

Agreed on play design, a lot of it is obvious and Opposing Ds must find it an easy read and react. Very little creativity but aside from that the D bends like crazy and usually let's opposing O walk right down the field after a score. This is why all our wins seem to come down to the last drive.
