Hoops scoops...hozed

As usual hoops, you nailed it. I'm not going to belabor my frustrations over the officiating ... but some guys NOT on the Patriots' roster collected some big checks today ... nice uniforms too ... groovy stripes. ARGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

I've been a Dmitri Patterson fan since the day he arrived, but wow, this guy looks every bit as good as Grimes so far this season. If he could stay healthy, I think we've got an excellent pair of veteran CB's. That's a big "if" though. Dmitri Patterson is a ballhawk--which is exactly what we needed--and also still a solid cover guy. Love the decision to go with Patterson. And, we have 2 good young prospects in Taylor and Davis to learn under two good CB's in Grimes and Patterson.

I was underwhelmed at the McKinnie signing ... and he took his lumps as he clearly doesn't know his assignments. But, if this game is any true indication ... he does seem to be motivated ... for the moment. I'm extremely happy and excited that we at least have a short term solution for the OL. Granted, the Patriots lack Vince Wilfork, but still, we ran and passed like an NFL team because of a decent OLine.

FYI, Jake Long was ranked by PFF as the #12 best OT in the NFL at the moment. Just sayin'.

Tannehill had his bad moments today, but IMHO, he really made some impressive plays. This kid is amazingly precise with the football, able to thread the needle into ridiculously tight windows like nobody we've had since Marino. I'm not comparing Tannehill to the Great Marino ... just saying that it's very nice to have a rare talent at QB ... and I'm OK with living through his growing pains until he becomes one of the top 10 QB's in the NFL, which I think he will do.

Jared Odrick is playing lights out at the DT position, much like what we expected when he was drafted even though that was for a 34 scheme. Soliai again proved that our run defenses begins and ends with him. Things aren't looking to rosy for Starks IMHO, because this decision is being made without him. Logan Mankins may not be having his best season, but the guy is an outstanding guard.

I'm psyched for a big Halloween game.

would be nice if we could get some home cooking like the pats did from the officials if need be...god knows they owe us

Agreed, but been waiting for a whole game of that for years. We get a call here and there but we don't get the big call that affects the game.

I'm sure the local fans are blamed though for not influencing the refs enough

Although I agree with most of what has been said but to blame it on the officials is ****ing rediculous. If the team lets it get in the hands of the officials then it's their own damn fault.

Hoops idk , I don't see th having vision. He doesn't feel the rush coming like most good qbs... I'm rooting for the kid but doesn't look good.

I usually agree with this thought to an extent. If wallace doesn't drop a pass inside the 10 when we are up 17-3, or sturgis doesn't hit the upright, we control our own fate. Can't allow them to stay within close striking distance or give them hope, thus giving the officials reason to help. But a play like vernons, thats not even fair thats just utter BS in an important time the game.

The problem with not being in the hands of the officials is that the NFL games are usually very close and 1 call may change the entire game.

The refs missed a fumble by the Pats too, the play just before they went for it on 4th and 5, should have been Dolphins ball.

I'm not the conspiracy theory type but twice in two weeks an official calls a PI against us on perfect coverage, both came from an official not assigned to that WR. Both times the announcer made a big deal of it like 'that call came from the side, how could he see it?'. Gruden is right, PI should jump off the screen at you, its too penile to call it close.

Yeah I forgot to mention the fumble called forward progress way too early we recovered...the rb fumbled in the pile worse even is you can't challenge that assanine call...

What exactly do you want the team to do...most the pats points today came off horrific calls...we got a catch by Mathews even on the sideline we can't challenge cause the nfl doesn't have a camera view to show the 2nd foot...

I'm sorry but the officiating in this game was horrendous...they kept spotting us a half yard short kept spotting the pats on the same kind of plays a half yard further...yeah I noticed it but forget that those calls in the late 3rd and 4th were so bad I dare those asshats to defend em...don't you guys get tired of being the nfls test tube???

I know I do...

I know we have selective memories when it comes to this type of thing but I seriously can't think of a single bad call on par with some of those calls today thats gone our way over like the past five years. That call against the Colts felt like like we got a cheap one but even that was a legit penalty. Its hard to imagine the refs would be instructed to help out the darlings of the league because it would come out eventually, but its also hard to imagine that we've been on the wrong side of luck to the tune of 15-20 horrible calls in a row.

The pass interference call against Jimmy Wilson was unbelievable.

When the fix is in, the fix is in. And there will be no furor about it because Joe Philbin isn't going to raise a stink.

Honestly that call against Patterson I dare someone to find a hold on that play by the corner...he's physical in the 5 yard zone never once holds...it's the worst call I've seen all season...pure bull****...
In a league full of bad calls by Guys well past their primes that ones the worst...

Meanwhile we got clay taking contact after the 5 yard chuck rule making the ball down the sideline by tanny which was perfect by the way just off the finger tips....if he's not chucked at the 7 yard mark that's an easy walk under catch...

The nfls got some explaining to do off today's game...too bad they won't do anything but cover it up

Batting the ball when guys are going full bore on the field the entire play more horse ****...who came up with that rule anyways...a loose ball is a loose ball I don't care if the guy swats it 30 yards until it's recovered and secured it should be fair game...this is not an offensive player batting the ball forward I get that...if it was then yeah you call the penalty...but on a loose ballin the backfield provided the offensive player doesn't bat it forward anything goes why would you come up with a penalty to penalize the defense for trying to keep it from an offensive player while and this is key going to ground...

It's bull****...period

This teams not good enough to overcome a team like the pats and the officials...especially when this damn kicker is missing 45 yarders and cam wake is giving you nothing...

Better win Thursday...dalton done blew his load on his best possible game he can play today...more pin point back shoulder throws today from him than he's ever shown...

Its not the 1st time they robbed us this season.Fu.ck tom brady hes no peyton manning.
